Along with lawsuits, there should be potest in the streets to stop this ridiculous money grab. If those tolls went to fixing the streets then it would be fairer but if there is less traffic then there is less revenue. Doesn't seem to make sense. It's just a ploy to push more people into sub-par and mismanaged mass transit that drivers want to be independent from.

This is a falsehood; a similar approach was implemented in London, and the congestion there has not diminished, but rather increased. Consider taking legal action against MTA, as it seems they are feeding you misinformation. It appears their motive is merely to generate additional revenue for themselves.

The problem is that de Blasio was so dumb by allowing Ed Mangano’s virus to come to NYC. This was something that I knew that it was going to happen as he refused to the the MTA the money that they requested in order to continue bus operations in Nassau County. This is exactly what they want, they want people to use cars instead of taking public transportation.

I grew up in Brooklyn! I do not feel sorry for those in Staten Island on bit! They can go to Robert Moses's grave and curse at it! Besides your parents wanted a" so- called" better Middle-Class life without the "rift-raft" from Brooklyn or the "Working-Class", who continue to ride the subways and buses! You can also blame the short-side city and state planners when the original IRT and BRT went into the Dual Contracts in 1913! But then, you would have to rely on a Time Machine. Remember H.G. Wells and his famous novel? So, stop belly aching and pay the damn fee! You can always move to Brooklyn!!!

You do realize that traffic will increase in northern Manhattan and the South Bronx. Cost of goods will only go up in Manhattan since cost of deliveries will be passed onto consumers. Pollution will indeed get worse and this ain't good for anyone. The MTA had a budget of 19.8 billion dollars last year and they still cry broke when top execs make $400,000 a year Maybe they should learn how to better manage their finances

I agree. But I have plenty of problems with some publicity seeking union using union funds to capriciously sue an entity like the MTA. We all know the the MTA has plenty of powerful interests in full support of their actions. The UFT has no right to squander union funds in this very expensive publicity stunt.@@zazaaziella16
