NYC crime: Woman fatally stabbed, man shot in separate incidents

A 22-year-old woman was fatally stabbed, and a man was shot in the leg in two separate NYC incidents on Tuesday night in Midtown Manhattan, the NYPD said. FOX 5 NY's Briella Tomassetti has the details.

I've been seeing so many news reports about the violent crimes in NYC, I thought 'Surely, violent crimes must have suddenly skyrocketed from a few years ago, probably because of the migrant crisis!' so i googled to find the statistics to verify that belief. Much to my surprise, the first thing that pops up is an ABC news article, which contains the following section of text: "According to NYPD crime statistics, violent crime in New York City is continuing to fall in 2024. Through March 17, the data show homicides are down 19% from the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, violent crime in the New York City housing developments fell 3.2% in 2023 from the previous year, according to the NYPD data." How could that be possible? Is the NYPD lying? Is the news lying? It's almost like the American mainstream news is trying to intentionally make it seem like crime has increased in NYC, when it objectively has not. Weird. Why would they do that? It's almost like they want to us to believe that there is a direct correlation between illegal immigrants and violent crime. But surely, that's not it, right? Because cherrypicking news stories with a hidden agenda is sneaky and underhanded, and we all know the American news media NEVER lies. And they NEVER EVER try to propagandize with the intention of stoking fear in viewers to influence public sentiment right? Hate immigration all you want. That doesn't change the crime statistics. Agreeing with the pr*paganda doesn't mean it's not pr*paganda.
