Actually, the way rights and laws work are they apply to everyone who is on US soil (and possibly waters too). However, while yes anyone who is standing on the US has a 1st amendment right (religion, speech, press, assembly and petition) you gotta remember that they still broke the law coming in illegally which means the laws also apply and should have them locked up.. but thats not what we are seeing.

To be clear, I am a progressive. It's a very fair point you make. Being progressive means having compassionate laws that allow everyone to thrive equally. And that should mean every legal citizen & resident. Obviously someone who comes illegally should not have the same rights.... Unless you want to encourage more illegal immigration! I'm 62 years old. My older sister and I both recently retired. Neither of us have ever been to NYC and we thought we should make the trip at least one time because it's one of our country's great cities--it's one of the world's great cities! I don't think that trip will ever happen now. The turmoil caused by the Democratic politicians going soft on criminals and coddling illegal aliens is just too much for us. We went to NYC for 2 days, Friday and Saturday, and stayed across the river in New Jersey and took the path train in. There's parking by the train station and you pay $30.00 for the day. It's so much cheaper than parking in NYC
