San Francisco has been under self-distancing and Stay@Home mandates for over a month now. I'm an introvert so I love this, get to read and play games, stay up real late, sleep in, all things I don't usually get to do without feeling way guilty. You stay well.

Stay alert not anxious! Like you said, it’s hard to believe everything you hear and it’s confusing for all of us with the flip flopping of CDC guidelines, but that’s beside the point at this stage. It’s also a very fluid situation of unprecedented impact, and regardless of what CDC says, it’s always a smart idea to air on the side of caution. We just need to unite as a society and do our parts with proper hygiene and physical distancing. The proof is in the pudding, and I truly believe that the early initiatives of sheltering in place that San Francisco implemented way before the rest of the country, has been successful. It’s too bad NY didn’t have the foresight to act quicker and more efficiently, and perhaps this is part of the reason why it is now the epicenter of our country if not the world. It may seem extreme and inciting fear, but so is the unknown with this virus. It’s been incredibly difficult to see patients take a sharp decline towards death in the matter of a day. Also, it’s not fair to say the news is “sensationalizing” deaths when people (mothers, fathers, daughters, etc) are in fact dying of this pandemic. It’s insensitive to say if you’re not directly impacted by a loved one or friend who did lose their life from a preventable disease. You’re right about the homeless though, and it’s honestly sad that Gov. Newsom here in CA didn’t take as much initiative until his back was up against the wall with this public health crisis.

I got to be honest with you ActionKid , your conclusions sound short-sighted and unreasoned about the effectiveness of quarantining and social distancing. Of which you seem to be critical of both policies. I would start by reading a synopsis of "The ones who walk away from Omelas". Intro to philosophy book about the ratio of people who suffer and people who thrive. 27:20 The truth is in the future, that's why the news media has waffled back and forth on many aspects of this. Furthermore, if you were the supreme ruler of New York City, what would you do in this situation? @@khrisi9410 let's try to put this in a more easily understandable scenario. You are in a theater, there are 5000 people inside. Terrorists have rigged the building so everyone could die at any moment. Nobody knows when the terrorist will push the ignitor button. Although he may never push the button. People inside know time matters. The longer they are inside, the higher the risk of death. Seconds count. The problem is only 50 people can exit every minute. If you exceed 50 people a minute, a few die by being stomped to death. If you try to get 500 people out per minute 10 people get crushed to death. Do you, 1) Take 100 minutes to safely exit every body knowing a good portion could die if there is an explosion before 100 minutes 2) crush and squeeze as many people out as possible but in the process killing many people unintentionally by crushing them to death ?

Also, I got a grow light bulb and put in my kitchen, I am literally growing carrots, onions, squash, tomatoes, jack fruit, dragon fruit and sweet pepper on my kitchen counter, and pineapples. Indoor gardens are super easy, some things may take time to grow, but growing your own food right now is critical. One simple $14 light bulb and everything I am growing is from seeds or ends of fruits and veggies I got from super market and ate. Actionkid wants to help, so everyone on here lets help each other, give ideas and advice. Amazon can bring you a bulb and seeds and a bag of soil to your doorstep. Lots of love everyone😙
