NYC is Letting Crime Surge… On Purpose

Recent perception in NYC is that crime is up, and that criminals are running rampant. On the other hand, official statistics contradict the experiences that have captivated mainstream conversations around safety, which has many new yorkers wondering if the city is safe.

Yep. In my area in New Mexico last August, a single dad cop got unalived by a WELL known criminal. After the criminal got in that revolving door of criminal justice. Beat his little girl friend, went to jail. That in itself was a wonder. As SOON as he got out, went looking for the officer who arrested him. Found him. Bought himself a red jumper. Lets see how long they keep him THIS time.

Exactly. If you can’t report a crime because it’s no longer considered reportable or even a crime even though everywhere else it is …. The problem isn’t the crime being down. It’s you covering your eyes as the government and sticking your head in the sand and telling everybody your system works all the wild people are getting harmed and affected by criminals every day. Eventually, this will collapse because they won’t be able to protect themselves from what’s happening …. But I hope you guys figure it out before it gets that bad.

Born in NYC in 1980. I was physically assaulted twice from then until the summer of love 2020. Since then… I’ve been violently assaulted four times, had my life believably threatened, been encircled by a group of young (cough) “men” who attempted to intimidate me, and have stopped two females in my life from being robbed and/or assaulted. I reported not a single one of these events to the police because it will just be a waste of my time. And almost every family or friend I share these stories with has told me they have had AT LEAST one similar attack. None reported. You’ll never get honest crime stats in an area where the residents know that their justice system will lower felony crimes down to misdemeanors and seek to let the criminals off with little to no jail time. If you want real world NYC crime rates… multiply any number you see by 2-5x and you’ll be closer to reality. Oh… and all of the above situations I mentioned… This doesn’t include the dozens more I WOULD HAVE encountered had I not stopped riding the subway and started watching my surroundings much more carefully. I’ve crossed the street or changed directions because I saw something sketchy a few hundred feet in front of me at least 15-20 times since 2020. Something I almost never did the last 44 years. And now I walk or take Uber if a place is far… RARELY opting for the subway. I have no doubt I would have been assaulted or confronted at least a few more times than listed above had I not started walking with my head on a swivel and taken active measures to avoid it when I see something even remotely off. Adams and anybody else who tells me I’ve just been watching too many social media videos can gf themselves. Been sucker punched, had chemicals thrown on me, shoved to the ground, chased, lunged at, encircled, and harassed. And as of this week, three of my pharmacies have been closed down. Yes THREE. In midtown Manhattan. Surrounded by more than enough people to financially support their business. Gone. Because of theft, robbery, and safety. Seriously… f anyone trying to tell me this isn’t happening. Ridiculous.

I don’t believe statistics or information that cannot be corroborated with a large amount of research and information over a wide amount of information that was needed to come to the conclusion they came to… For instance : if you are telling me about the inflation rate, but you don’t include groceries, household items, utilities, gas prices in the information gathered to tell me how bad inflation is… then it’s not a real number… it’s what you want it to be. If you only include severe crime and crime reporting and none of the minor assaults, robberies, smaller crimes … I don’t have an accurate assessment of the overall crime rate in the area… sure no one wants to get murdered or raped or put in the hospital, but we also don’t want to get punched, mugged, robbed or bothered by minor crime either… that actually can affect you more profoundly in the day-to-day if it’s rampant. During my 4 days in Manhattan (and a few hours in Brooklyn), thankfully nothing happened. On day 1, for about 10 seconds, I thought my wallet had been stolen when in fact I'd stuck it in my hoodie's front pocket. I think I was overly scared, and even my sister laughed at my jump to conclusions. After that, I just used common sense like keeping a lookout, and not standing next to the edge of the subway platform.

I think its perfectly feasible that much of our policy makers themselves are sincere and honest about the idea that their disastrous ideology is somehow improving things, despite what everybody's eyes and ears actually tell them. They're just that braindead. That doesn't mean that the demolition of the social contract isn't intentional-- it absolutely is. But if you're going to burn the world down you're going to need both political grunts who believe they're helping, as well as the pretend opposition who have no real interest in helping. Sometimes the opposition is actually sincere, but in every instance any opposition is too weak to actually retain enough power to create change. And you can forget about somebody coming along that's cunning enough to acquire that necessary power in the first place.

Any of you who've recently been in major cities outside the USA -- you've probably seen that they are NOT having similar shoplifting issues. Most retail shops are still thriving, and shopkeepers still put items in front of their windows to draw people in. I haven't seen people shoplifting nor selling stolen items on the streets. One key difference: they enforce their laws. And they haven't changed their laws to make stealing an "entitlement."

My wife and I went up to the police car and reported what was happening and was told they are aware but can not do anything about unless the man actually physically attacks someone. This is why we have to stop assuming that all people are born “good” and there is not evil in every single one of our hearts. I know I’m my best day sometimes I’ve had some pretty dark thoughts myself … if I were to get to a really bad place I’m sure, as like anyone else, I could act out out of them if I did not procure some form of self-control and ability to weeded out those thoughts as wrong and lay them aside. The difference between me and the average criminal is, they decide to act on those thoughts and lack self-control and self-awareness because of some reason that does not mean that we don’t punish those decisions . The reason why I learned those things were bad and developed self-control was because as a child I was taught through discipline that those brought negative consequences . Some people did not have those consequences and that’s how you survive . It is sad, but that does not mean that we remove laws in order to help them “be better” because that’s not how someone learns to not do evil. Humans learn not to do evil by having consequences for their poor actions … society was in a better place when we had simple rules that covered a large swath of crime. Letting these people go just makes them worse because then they learn there are no consequences to bad behavior . If we decided to get back to some kind of safety and normalcy , we have to give people consequences for bad actions… We can feel bad for them once they’re in jail and maybe help them and see if they can be taught and rehabilitated- I’ve seen plenty of those stories of redemption in our society- but we can’t just assume it’s going to happen on the streets if they let go and not prosecuted. All of the people I know that their lives around from poor decisions did so after facing some pretty severe consequences for their bad actions . It’s cruel to feel sorry for someone and then remove any and all means for them to correct the situation because you think you’re being “nice “… kindness still does the right thing while having compassion and help for that person in the aftermath of facing their consequences.

The sad thing is that would be the most normal thing people see in NYC considering the large number of mentally unstable people there.

Authoritarian regimes are scared of their people which is why they're repressed. I prefer the government to respect the people, and not just say "eh, we got the numbers to replace them".
