My wife arrived legally on an I-130 after a two+ year process just to get her to the States. Due to a DHS error with mailing the green card, we never got it. They sent it regular mail with no proof of delivery (no sig required) - yet because they showed it "delivered" we had to pay all the fees and even do the "make you feel like a criminal" prints etc. all over again - which took months and time off work to manage. When we finally did get the card 18 months later, it was only good for TWO WEEKS because they kept the initial period on it. This system works great for illegal walk-ins, but for those who wait in line like we are supposed to and pay the $$$, it is a mess just like most other gov programs.

Interesting, similar thing happened to me. They mailed my green card to my old address and they knew it I’ve moved. I asked for replacement from USCIS and it’s been 3 years since I’ve filed my request. I have a stamp in my passport and every time I come back to the US I’m double security checked abroad and at US border they always take me to the office for verification purposes. It’s really sad that people coming illegally are prioritized. Additionally I don’t think they can file asylum applications if they came to the country illegally. At least around 10 years ago this was a basic rule.

So sorry for your trouble! We went through the same processes and some places would not accept the stamp as proof. For example the swiss embassy would not issue a visa without the physical card despite her status being legit so I ended up having to travel to some assignments without her which was sad especially as she was basically alone in the US her first few months before making new friends. Went to DHS for help and, yeah, that was another wasted day off work. Finally gave up and just went to places like Mexico that would accept her passport. And on the way back, just like you, always pulled into secondary despite her legal US residency status. Fortunately three years in we got her citizenship. I have a great pic of her waving the red white and blue flag as she came out of the swearing in ceremony. No more hassles now and she's doing great. The US needs to take a lesson from El Salvador. They suspended the rights of thier citizens for a few days then thier army arrested anyone that could be affiliated with gangs. 66k men arrested and thier murder rate dropped like a rock. Harsh but effective

The people voted for it, when politicians said they support illegals and want to provide facilities for them and asked them to come, the population cheered, when they reduced police funding they also cheered. The people are not exonerated from consequences. This is their problem, they can deal with it. @haroondaman7162 I did not vote for them or for any defund of police but still, I got robbed in NY CITY, so it doesn't work for whoever voted or not And the politicians should take control of their city regardless. The way the city is going it will be an all criminals city soon. That's why I moved, and that's why more and more people that bring income to NYC are moving away and investing in other states. It's a shame NYC has gone to shits.

The Sanctuary law is being abused because there is loop hole in the law that Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Eric Adams and District Attorney Alvin Bragg are abusing.
