The Big Wheel Wheelchair is not wider or heavier. They come in differet widths. But think of cracks and curbs on a bicycle: No Problem at ALL. The difference is EXTREME not marginal. Taking care of an invalid, and travelling extensively in cities and states and vehicles, and houses and offices, and many restaurants, that 'transporter' you call a "Wheelchair" is WORTHLESS in comparrision to the simple, extremely agile and facilitating 'big wheel' Wheelchair. You have a mental block. You should borrow or rent a big wheel wheel chair just to try it out and I promise you it will blow you away, AK. How much is one hotel stay? It's WORTH it!

I highly recommend "Invacare" YEARS of experience. You can't get a motel room in Manhattan for the price of one of these. Far from marginal, they are FUN! an actual joy. After my mom passed, I didn't know how to walk in the mall or on the street. I felt naked and like I'd fall forward. I almost felt I should have a one of those walkers with a wheel? 🤣 It was like I'd lost an appendage. They are not cumbersome at all. Zip Zap. No problem.

That’s actually called cauliflower ear. It’s a condition that affects the ear cartilage after an injury. Unfortunately there’s not much anyone can do. Surgery doesn’t do much as it’s all simple swelling but cartilage doesn’t go back down when swollen. Wrestlers get it all the time so do mma fighters. Boxers occasionally. Anyway doctors don’t suggest surgery unless it causes hearing problems.

I haven’t talked about this too much, but I had Covid in October ‘22 and my whole body blew up in pain, mainly my legs. Some days (still) I had a hard time walking and moving around and was also completely exhausted. I’m someone who had never been sick a day in my life and also, like you, a very active New Yorker. It makes you see the city very, very differently when suddenly it’s a challenge to get around and just get down the street; things you took for granted and never thought about before. I get it and I wish I didn’t. Thanks for your honesty and showing us what this has been like for you. You give me some courage to talk more about it! I’m on the mend and you will be, too ♥️ Lisa
