New York Caribbean carnival was beautiful in its hey day. There were so many people in colorful costumes it looked like vibrating feathers 🪶 🎉 dancing to the music 🎶 You barely saw the people. Now its a big block party 😮😮

You have to be on the LEFT side of the truck 🛻 now to see the Costumes cause The STORMERS took over the right side, this started happening in the 2000’s, it got worse since the Pandemic 🙄

No costume no mas, a lot has changed since my first time here in 74, Miami carnival has the crown now after Trinidad, Caribana in Toronto is also trying to stay relevant but NYC eastern parkway needs some real traditional organizers.

labor day nowadayz is nothing like it was in the 90's... its waaaaay less people now...i'm happy its still going on but it looks soo dead.....back then the entire street would be populated with people on boths sides of the barricades....people jumping from start to finish......so full that the barricades would be constantly bumped into....its definately not the same...

My friend and I arrived between 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. We heard the cops 👮‍♂️ saying they were going to close the subways. Soon after they put up the barricade and tape. We got lucky

In some cases is good not to have too many people on the parkway itself Let them stay on the sidelines because that way you can see the individuality of the costumes and the different people who are participating
