So many memories of fishing Jamaica bay and marine bridge area for humpback porgies/ sea bass and the bluefish striper runs in September and October- also set my personal best records on black fish as a kid fishing the pilons. Good times, glad to see the hobby is alive and well. Walking the beaches for blues and stripers now.

May I ask you this question since Jamaica Bay has many undersized Fluke and other undersized fish why not go out to the ocean and maybe find places where the fish are much bigger at least legal sized do the rules of rental prohibit you from taking the boat out to the ocean??

Only a few feet from the marine park bridge. Some nice size fish in the bay but it's about timing and the right spot. I'll have to go on a charter boat for that.
