Over 100,000 asylum seekers have passed through NYC. Employment without proper work-authorization is difficult and risky.

They are not "asylum seekers". Asylum seeker: a person who has left their home country as a political or religious refugee or getting away from war and is seeking asylum in another. 99% of them DO NOT fall into these categories.

Exactly. These are economic migrants. The US does accept asylum seekers like some people from Myanmar through UNHCR that are affected by the military government's policies. If they don't leave they could die or be put in jail. They are housed in a border town in Thailand with food provided while waiting to come to the US.

They don’t want to take the time to read the Constitution, coming to our country through the front door, not the back. Shame on our leaders in authority for taking bribes, looking the other way. I don’t feel sorry for these immigrants, because in the mid nineties, they came here illegally, taking African American citizens jobs, and other peoples of color. The same sex groups and nonprofits, came into our underserved communities, being the foreclosed houses that grandparents left to their children. All these black Americans were placed in state operated housing complexes with high crime rates. Shame on these Corporations and special interests groups determined to install their sick values, using poor people of color. Tell the truth. Media is full of lies, these days.

State owned enterprises must be worked only by Medicaid recipients. Let them learn to take care of each other. No more free meal tickets. Home based childcare by the very people who came here by rushing the borders. They do not get to have any private sector jobs before Americans. Period!! 💁🏾🇺🇸

Every hour of migrant labor is flipped for a profit. Those billions of profits off the backs of undocumented migrants are spent by business owners in the form of higher income spending in nice real estate, nice cars, investments in the stock market, etc. The taxes paid on high income spending fund our entire national defense and trillion dollar a year Medicare system. So you're welcome is what we should be saying to migrants who come to WORK in 110 degree heat agricultural fields and in meat processing plants So that we all have food on the shelves of our supermarkets that don't cost triple the already high prices.

They would not be a burden and we could pay less in taxes if they were allowed to work and American businesses would finally have access to desperately needed workers, jobs that Americans don't want to do for any amount of money. That is the definition of INSANITY, preventing them from working and supporting themselves and making us pay to support them. Why are we allowing them in when you dont even know if their asylum application will be rejected? Its like hiring someone prior to getting their background check back. What happens when their application is rejected and all this money was already spent to house and feed them. Just seems very backwards. I personally find it interesting how kids have to be fully vaccinated for the safety of the public to attend school and these migrants dont. Teachers already feel overwhelmed. How are they going to deal with this influx and language barriers. They havent even done background checks on them at the border which they should have done before allowing them in. How we have spent millions of dollars on resources to help them but we cant help our vets or our homeless. How many other migrants have come with nothing and have had to pay for documentation and lawyers with money they earned from WORKING! While these people lay on the streets waiting for their hand outs of free housing, food and a monthly check. My other thing is, do you think it will raise the cost of rent once all these thousands of migrants leave the shelters?? More people, more demand for housing that isnt even really available.

Two years is nothing. I worked at U.S. Immigration in the detention in deportation unit, as well as the naturalization unit. Back in 1994 the expected wait for migrant to enter legally was approximately 40 years and that's if you made the cut off before 9/11 doubled the expected wait. It's now close to 90 years wait unless you have a spouse, parent or sibling that is ALREADY a U.S. Citizen. Not a lawful permanent resident, they must be a full citizen. The ONLY exceptions are for professional athletes, celebrities, wealthy investors, visa lottery winners or people holding advanced degrees in high paying sectors whose employers have made a pre-arranged commitment to employ them immediately upon arrival. But 99.9% of the jobs in America that needed to be filled ASAP are not for these high paying jobs, it's for hard physical jobs in agriculture, meat processing, restaurants, hotels, elder care and home construction during a housing shortage. And by the way the majority of people we saw deported were not criminals. In fact drunk drivers, burglars, drug dealers were typically picked up on a detainer from the state and county jails and nearly all were valid U.S. citizens.

TOTAL NONSENSE. these are NOT illegal aliens. These are the migrants who presented themselves at an official point of entry as is the law and made an assylum application that was considered valid since they are coming from countries considered eligible under TPS. They are coming from dictatorships averse to U.S. interest just like the millions of Cubans and Russians who are citizens today because of the SAME process. The Texas governor loves to leave out that part. The people who are actually undocumented and illegally crossing are "catch and release" and shipped back to Mexico the same day they are caught because it's too expensive to process their deportation through a formal hearing process. The fraction of a fractionm who qualify for TPS application are these 110K that the Texas Governor very clevverly decided to send only to NYC and not the dozen other cities in Republican states who already take in plenty of undocumented workers every day and employ them in Republican owned agriculture and meat processing businesses all across the red states. They all need workers NOW. So why didn't the Texas governor ship them all there? Becuse he's using these 100% documented assylum seekers as political pawns.

They are used by the worst of the worst to harm innocent people and there are no repercussions for them. Whatever they do, it's a free ride. They will always have a roof over their heads. I wish Americans would have fought harder for what their forefathers gave their lives for. Even in modern day when Soldiers are deployed to tackle threats that most Americans don't even think about, the citizens back home didn't defend their home. They allowed crime to get out of control, they failed to defend our borders, failed to hold up the standards. We are being dismantled from within and our enemies know it. Consequently, they tend to delay action on this matter for extended periods, hindering any potential improvements. I am not native American but I am a natural born citizen of northern and western European extraction whose family at least some branches of it; have been here for hundreds of years going back first to just after the Civil War and then back into the early 1800's and even the 1700's . Never researched my background to know if my people were here before the Revolution or the French and Indian War. Never had the time or money. That is to say if the records even still exist or they ever existed. I am college educated. But because I have a generalized education and relatives with a cultural mindset that amounts to mental illness and fear of success at least in my opinion; I find myself victimized by my family's poor planning and estate lawyers. I am in chapter 13 bankruptcy and work at a fast food place for the last 30 some years as a single woman. I have to deal with all these foreign delivery drivers who can't speak English. I get that making it very difficult to survive once they get here is supposed to be an incentive to keep them away, but the majority of those people aren't going to have access to media outlets here in United States that talk about all of these deterrents that are in place. So they have no idea what they are getting themselves into, but by the time they get here they might not be able to go back safely either. The inconvenience and danger that things like these illegal mopeds pose to regular citizens, are an unintended consequence, but they show you that what we are doing right now isn't the right way to do address this problem either. Our government should be doing more to help and/or pressure these foreign governments to improve conditions in the home countries that these people are fleeing, instead of punishing these people for trying to escape danger. Removing the incentive to leave their home countries in the first place will be the best way to decrease how many people try to come to the USA

I had to deal it myself and I didn’t expect anyone to help me because I chose to come here. Before I moved to the US, I already spoke English and when I got here, I began to learn more and speak like an American. I wanted to be an American and I’m hoping will all my knowledge and skills- I’m a part of a community that grows and move forward this country. Most of these illegal immigrants has no education and they don’t want to be American. The problem is they will continue to bring their culture to America and this way slowly, but for sure, America will be turned into a third world country. If someone is knowingly letting them use their identity to work, they as well should be charged. There need to be consequences. Just take a look at the comments and how many people went through the proper and legal ways of applying to enter, paid all fees, and waited their turn. The government spending $10k per person is absolutely absurd. They say there aren't enough resources to help citizens but have the money for this? @@Kevin-oj2uoThey are not or should not be legal. To seek asylum, you must already be in the U.S. and believe you will be in danger of persecution if you return to your country. If they returned to Venezuela or Mexico or whatever. Their government is not going to prosecute them for leaving their country. Venezuela or any Latin American countries are not North Korea. U can come and leave anytime u want. Asylum or refuge is only for people who fear persecution from the government. Somebody like Yeonmi Park is an asylum seeker. Those millions who came to the US aren't. Technically speaking they aren't asylum seekers. It's ok to bring in a few thousand, maybe a few hundred thousand is still fine. The US can help some to come here and have a better life but to come by the millions in less than 5 years is ridiculous. If you do this in China or Japan or Singapore they will refuse entry. They will kick you out as soon as they can. Even Europe is largely an anti-illegal immigrant society. But somehow if the US do it, it's inhumane. The US is a country, it's not an international relief organization. It also pisses me off because some of them are not even from Venezuela. Venezuela is extremely poor right now, hungry and poor. Ok fine maybe it's ok to help them. But some of these people came from Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, etc. They aren't even dirt poor countries. Mexico is corrupt & dangerous but they aren't poor. They have an ok-ish quality of life and not many people are going hungry. The same goes for the El Salvador & Cuba. So there is no justification for countries other than Venezuela to apply for refuge. It's ridiculous.

@@shreddersaurusrex323 Venezuela being chaotic, is not a valid basis for asylum. Sorry it isn't and let's be clear about what happened in Venezuela. Ecuador realized they were sitting on oil reserves, they sought capital and expertise from American companies, and they honor the terms of that deal. They then turned the company into a nationally known entity called PetroEcuador and they had no issue. Venezuela did the same thing but the minute that the companies installed all of the wells and gave them the expertise thinking they had to deal, Venezuela nationalized the enterprise, stealing billions of dollars worth of American investment dollars. If America had let that stand, every Third World country would do that, and while it would hurt the western world in the short term, where do you think the developing world would ever get capital after that? They had to act, and Chavez knew that but he did it anyway Now why was Chavez in this position in the first place? Because the Soviets object, and principle to NATO, because it was basically created to prevent the Soviets from taking control of the whole of your a piece by piece. The Soviets retaliated by coming over to Latin America recruiting, whatever to bit dictatorial strongman they could find. So how do you blame? The US win the Soviets were the ones who propped up Chavez and Castro to let's not forget him and bankrolled them into those positions. If Venezuela is a mess, it's because of the Soviets and Chavez, but again, Venezuela being a mess is not the basis for asylum. And I'll tell ya, I think it's a disaster to be allowing all of these Venezuelans in specifically because every time I see them, they are trying to import their failed communistic mentality into our country. That is exactly the way that Native Americans and Hawaiians really lost their country. Historically you cannot import a group into your country that runs counter to the way that you think and expect that one of you isn't going to lose and a lot of times that loss comes with a hell of a lot of violence beforehand. Look at the US with the Civil War. They allowed people to set up slavery, even though most of the country didn't want it, and then it became a thing that had to be eradicated the Civil War. I don't want warfare here, and I certainly don't wanna lose my country because we've imported disaster into our midst.

The Illegals have been doing this for years in Boston..When our restaurant closed down and unemployment representatives came in to show us how to doing the paperwork not one social security number matched up with the numbers that the Illegals gave to get the jobs.

Its nationwide, "capitalism" depends on cheap labor from undocumented immigrants. Undocumented Immigrants aren't allowed a path to obtain papers so they can provide cheap labor. While they commonly do restaurant work corporations like hotel chains, food services, agriculture, animal agriculture, construction, etc, etc. depend on the labor of undocumented immigrants. The system is corrupt from the top down, and blaming the people at the bottom for the corruption at the top isn't going to fix anything.

@@d.martinez-rodriguez333 because they are a class that is established entirely to provide cheap labor. don't blame the people at the bottom for corruption at the top. the programs that established undocumented immigrant labor started with the Bush/Cheney administration and corporations save a lot of money employing undocumented immigrants, the black market that Cash exposes here is just street level where its noticeable, go visit housekeeping in any hotel, a dairy farm, a construction site, its everywhere and a whole lot of people are profiting..

Politicians gave up on the homeless population. The homeless are expensive for housing, food benefits, mental health care and drug rehab. Also they don’t vote so they’re a liability. They rather invest now in the migrants. The migrants will fill jobs and eventually vote democrat in elections. I’ve heard this from a few people in state government level. They can’t say it at this point, but there’s a strategy here.

Most of the Hispanic immigrants who come in from central America are based conservatives. So how are they going to vote Democrat? I'm in California and, believe me... they're very conservative. They just don't vote.

The homeless on the streets is like a fraction compared to ilegal migrants, so how can be that exspensive to house etc 20 k homeless in streets compared to hundreds of thousands entering New York, they'll reproduce too , homeless don't reproduce. Thought that was common knowledge from years ago these are for fresh votes and cheap Labour

My husband who is a legal immigrant must follow all the laws in the US or he can face deportation. Mind you “migrants” sneak across the border(first law they broke even know it’s not a felony) drive mopeds without license, insurance, registration. Work without a ss# or itin. Claim someone else’s identity to work. Pay taxes and so on. How many more laws to they have to break before we do something about it?? This is ridiculous!!!
