Hi, Tim! I absolutely love that sampler box...such a great idea. Even when I'm by myself I order a lot of dishes (and pay the hefty price), but then eat them for a few days. I didn't hear you say...will they let you take home the leftovers? Most AYCE will not let you do that 😢. Everything looked so good! The sticky rice was FULL of goodies and I could hear how crispy the egg tarts were. YUM!! Thank you again for taking us along!! Another great deal in NYC, almost unheard of. Have a great week 🥰

I'm convinced that one of the best ways to introduce someone to tripe, is in hotpot. The soup base can be so aromatic & flavorful, which goes well with the texture of tripe. That was my experience anyway. I didn't know it was tripe until after I had already enjoyed it:)

It is crazy how expensive dim sum can be… This was a real treat because in Vancouver they’re almost like $10-$11 a dish. Will definitely be on the lookout for any all you can eat them some places in the bay area. Let me know if you find some too.

I gotta say that Asian Menus in general are very well designed. Most Korean/Chinese/Japanese menus got pictures whereas some cultures adopted a long description of what things is. I'm nervous whenever i dine at Italian restaurants cuz i don't know what some of the things are and the correct pronunciation. The idea that I can look at something, and just go like b2. d5. e1 is just awesome. if i truly can't tell from picture, i can grab google lens or microsoft image search. the flip side in some places is that i'm using a dictionary to find out what it is and how to pronounce it back to the server.... sigh~~~

It is interesting… Because the dim sum in New York Chinatown was OK, but the dim sum in the flushing area is superb… Just like the ones we have in Richmond. I do prefer New York because while the quality is the same, it’s a lot cheaper.

In my opinion this is the best dim sum place in Flushing (or NYC), but used to be quite expensive by Flushing standard. Hence they may have been crushed by cheaper options nearby. This $20 AYCE option is their latest strategy to fight off competitions. I really hope they survive, it’s one of my favorites!

I heard most dim sum restaurants are using packaged food from factories that are massively made. They just have to heat them up before serving. That's why they can drive down the prices so low, because they don't need to hire dim sum masters anymore to make the shumai, shrimp balls,and tripes.... Every dim sum dish has been factory made in China. Did you feel that??

Yeah, some of the buffet places I visited… You can tell it’s premade. I can say that the dumplings here are definitely homemade. You can taste the difference.

I know! I can’t believe the hour and a half to two hours wait. If you do get a chance to visit, it would be ideal to put your name down and just go for a walk around the area. It’s well worth the wait and the weight on both counts.😉

Service is typically better if you speak their language 😂. The first dish was beef louver, beef tripe is the stomach and it’s usually stewed in five spice and soy sauce

We went there on a black Friday and try to get that deal, they claim it's a weekend. I told them Friday isn't a weekend. Then they told us is a holiday. I told them Thanksgiving is a holiday. Not black Friday. We walk out at ate somewhere else. I remember the menu clearly stated if you have table of 4 or more, come with either free lobster or soft shell crabs. So we went back on December 19th, 2024. Which is a Thursday. We noticed the menu saying there's a 90 minutes time limit and the tea are $3. So we had ordered water and 2 round with 16 dishes all together. Before I have the chance for our 3rd round, they gave us the check. We only there for an hour. My partner told me that there's a long line so they kick us out. When I look at the bill, they charge us taxes even though we pay in cash. We gave them $48. Which we think is fare because the foods was not so good and the service is horrible. They demanded more tips. I told them no because it's a suggestion price.😅 On our way out, they took away the free lobster or soft shell crabs. Honestly, I will not go back unless they change.😂

Oh my goodness such an ordeal! I remember when I was there, the lines were huge and perhaps because I have the camera, the service was a lot better. Gosh, I can't imagine having lobster and soft shell crab at that price regardless of how the service is. What a deal. Just ordering 2 or 3 appetizer will cost that much. I loved the 9 item box. I wished more would offer that, especially for someone that eats out alone. Having 3 dishes with 3 to 4 pieces each don't sound as good as 9 different kind. No wonder that with those prices the wait is that long.

I must say it was definitely worth the wait and the weight 😉. It’s nice just to get to experience it. I remember that a meal at McDonald’s was pretty close to $19.

Thanks for the tip about the ratings. Food quality is more important than service, unless the service is really bad. Food looked good, BUT I wonder if forgetting the scallops was intentional since they are expensive. That may lead to poor ratings on service.
