I just got here from a 1986 NYC subway video and compared to 1986 the stations in the 1990s were all cleaned up, spruced up, and given brighter and additional lighting!

Also with R32s the R46s occasionally ran on the E train as well

I do miss all the old Redbirds R30AS and R27s R26S R28S R29S R33ML R33WFS R36MI the iRT and the IND BMT lines. Another thing we definitely miss the R10S R16s . R17S R21S R22s R15S R12s R14s on the 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line. Now the slam fourtys and modified fourtys and R42s R32S R44S . Now what we have left on the iRT lines is the R62AS R62S on the iRT lines. Including the R68S R68AS.

Circa 1993-early 1994. The “Not Hold Doors” stickers were affixed to all doors in 1993, and right before the swap of R-68’s to Concourse, and R-68A’s to Coney Island. Obviously, Jamaica still had all the R-46’s then, and well before F Trains made their move to the 63rd Street Line when the project to connect to the Queens Blvd took place.

In 11:15 that brown buliding used to be a warehouse by queensboro plaza now is a JetBlue buliding

The f train used to run on the 53rd street line until 2001

By the time it reach like the late year 2000 up to present all the number lines subway cars convert from red bird to r142s except the 1 ,3,7 and 9 trains

We have the R211As R211S R211Ts for the A C lines for CBTCS. Pretty soon the R262/As open and close ways will definitely replacing all the R62AS R62S on the 1 3 6 S lines for CBTCS.

@ because I grew up taking the R44/R32 A train, R42 J train and R62A 3 train before those 3 train cars went to flushing in the late 90s and early 2000s

@ they were on the R32 F, that airplane engine sound that gradually builds up as the train accelerates and gradually comes down as it decelerates, unlike the R46

@@JustJamalNichols R32s (Especially the Phase II versions) were easily my faves on the A, B, E, F, N, W (When it was the Yellow B Train) and Q lines. Those trains were too much fun to ride on along with the rest of the SMEEs before the R44s (Aside from the R62s), and they’re too good to being on boring Local Lines like the C or R lines. I did enjoy riding the R40s and R42s and the R143s on the Eastern Division Lines back then. Those trains were very fun too. The B Division got way too boring once the MTA got rid of all those trains because of their age and then replaced them with the State of the Art but boring R160s.

Right now we definitely missed the 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line and the culture elevated lines in Brooklyn. The 8 Thrid Ave Elevated shouldn't not have never been taken down in the first place including the culture Thrid Avenue Elevated line in Brooklyn. Including the ninth Ave Elevated line

Why do you say the 1990s was the best era when QBL and Broadway were trash back in the 1990s? The best era for NYC Subway is easily the 2000s before budget cuts that slashed service. Sorry…
