NYC Subway: R46, R68, R68A N Train Action with New R211T on Sea Beach Test Track (4/10/23)

Here we see regular N trains with the new R211T Test Train on the Sea Beach Test Track. The operator was nice enough to sign up the train as various programs during the testing. Enjoy!

I know why they swapped out the R160 to the R because of CBTC and I hope the N and Q will get the R211

@@user-vf9rt5jo9v The First Option Order (640 R211A’s) is gonna go to Coney Island and Concourse Yards for the (B) and (D) to make them fully NTT for 6th Avenue CBTC. While this mostly gives Broadway the short end of the stick since the (N/W) and (Q) will get displaced R68’s from Concourse, the (B) is only a part-time route, so the R211’s from the (B) would also be used on the (N) and (Q) during late nights and weekends. If Jamaica Yard receives R211T’s (assuming that the Second Option Order will be exercised and include R211T’s), they would go to the (E) and (F) and displace some R160’s. Some think that any displaced R160’s from Jamaica would go to the (B) and (D), but if the (B) and (D) are already fully R211, those R160’s would instead go to Coney Island yard for the (N/W). The (N) would also likely share those R160’s with the (Q) whenever the (B) and (W) aren’t running.

It won’t until the r68s are up to replacement the earliest. Broadway is last priority for CBTC so all of the all trains are gonna be dumped unto the N/Q/W for now

I say by 2024 the R46 will Retire and maybe the N and Q Should Get Back some of the R160s or R211
