Having grown up in Brooklyn, I loved taking the subway to Coney Island. However, the N is the least enjoyable of the 4 lines that go there because almost until the end, it's entirely below street level. The other 3 all have long above ground segments. The F has the classic view of the lower Manhattan skyline from the Gowanus Canal viaduct which has the highest station on the system, Smith/9th St.

I like the Q better because the view above ground is more interesting especially when entering Brighton Beach & then pulling into Coney Island. On tge N you miss the wonderful view of the Cyclone

You are right. If you look at the view of Coney Island, then Q train is better. If you look at the view of Harbor, Red Hood, Dumbo, then F train is better.

@@City-Hiker agreed on the the F which has great views in Brooklyn starting around Smith/9th,but takes the longest. It’s a schlep to go all the way out there on that line.However, The F is underground for DUMBO,the Harbor.. the Q goes over the bridge ( as does the N.)

19:12 "Step in!" I took the LA Subway at the beginning of June, and a rider pulled on the emergency brake to wait for someone to get on to the train. 🤦‍♀ 34:28 Rotary phone ringtone. ☎😁 This was an efficient ride, and we also got to see great views of the city. What happened to the days where the N and Q trains had new and modern R160s and why did they replace them with old and outdated R46s? I feel so bad for those commuters who used to be able to ride on modern trains and now have to ride on old, outdated, and rundown trains.

This was unusual for me at least. I've ridden the subway a few times, don't live there so it is not a mode of transportation I need. And honestly when there, only will travel above ground. I know, don't harsh me for being honest. Great sound, visual. Relaxing

There's *_nothing_* dangerous about the subway; if you're travelling in NYC on the subway, to make sure of your safety, you find the area on the platform with a series of lines above it on the celling-this is where the motorman on the train is. Sit next to said motorman/motorwoman when you board the train in this spot. and you'll be safe.
