NYC to Montreal by boat/yacht long time lapse

Taking a boat from New York City to Montreal via the Champlain and Chambly canals. Pretty long video that is not all that interesting but certainly beneficial to those about to do the trip for the first time.

I know the Champlain Canal well, the majority of the distance has speed restrictions of 5 to 10 mph with limited 30 mph sections. This is to prevent bank erosion and as a courtesy to other travelers - nobody likes getting waked.

Nice video... I became interested in the Champlain Canal and the route north just a few years ago. It is very picturesque and historic as well, like Fort Ticonderoga. Westport, NY is a nice town on Lake Champlain where many boaters put in for rest, repairs and provisions.

i would have loved to see much more of the lower hudson. for instance, when you passed the mansions near kingston...such a good opp for some great scenery. Or west point, that would have been nice. But well done!

You radio the operator of the bridge. Some bridges are on a regular schedule.

Isn't there a speed limit/no wake restriction on parts of the canal? I was disappointed to see your wake at 3:50 in the video. It almost looks like you don't give a crap about erosion or damage to canal side structures.
