Your walking content is incredibly professional and well done and complete: excellent footage and lighting, helpful introduction, no distracting watermark, date filmed and local temp (and sometimes timestamps) in the description. I have no idea how I haven't found your channel until now. Subscribed.

Thank you. It is good that Chinese culture and Lunar New Year are still celebrated in NYC by some. Not all cities have something like this.
@PicturesofNewYork Жыл бұрын
Yes we have Lunar celebrations in all parts of the city in the next few weeks including the official Lunar parade in Chinatown next month.

Chinese New year is based on our Chinese calendar, NOT lunar calendar. we welcome everyone celebrating our new year festival, but please do not rename it or make distorted information about it.

@@steevek Have you told that to all the millions of people who refer to it as lunar new year?
@TheAnsonysc Жыл бұрын
@@steevekWhen I say in Chinese, I say 農曆新年 or 舊歷新年(舊歷vs新歷January, 1st.) if in English, I say Lunar New year. I have been using these for more than half a century. How long have you been using the Chinese New year? Do you think that your English is better than those whose mother language is English so you tell them how to name/call the Chinese festivals in English? If so, how to speak 農曆新年 in English & what does it mean for Lunar New year in Chinese?

damn, this is it? Back then, they closed every street and an actual parade. Unless this isnt the official parade. Check out 8th ave in brooklyn on the 29th
@PicturesofNewYork Жыл бұрын
This is not the official parade. That's next month but I much prefer this one as you go where you want because the sidewalk are not gated off. Also, this was on the actual day of the New Year which is another important factor.
