I take a walk through Brooklyn from Red Hook through Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill to Downtown Brooklyn. I start off in the Red Hook Food Corp, the location of General Ock's bodega where crazy sandwich inventions are made, and make my way over to Court Street. Court Street is a major thoroughfare through all the neighborhoods of Brooklyn I pass through. I then turn on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

Thanks so much for doing this video! I was born and raised in carroll gardens on carroll street and I used to spend a lot of time in that park. It's changed quite a bit since, but it's funny because after 40 plus years, a lot of the stores are still there owned by the same families. I miss that part of my life a lot. My grandma lived one block north on president street. And it was really a nice safe place for kids back then. Everyone knew everyone else. Very cool. Thanks again.

This was a very, very enjoyable walk! I'll be watching it again. I can relate to Brooklyn Heights - I can see the tops of the buildings. It reminds me of the "downtown" section of my town. Of course, here in my little town that comprises the post office, town hall, Chinese restaurant, bank, and two antique shops on one side of the street and a church, tea room, apartment house, and vacant grocery store on the other - blink, and you've missed it! Thanks for posting this!

It's been awhile. I lived in Carroll Gardens for 21 years on Union Street with my dogs not far from the Cammareri Bakery where Moonstruck was filmed. Nino's a popular Pizza place on the corner of Henry Street was a stone's throw from me. Moved back to Boston suburbs 13 years ago. Do miss the smells of the Italian bakeries and the flavor of the entire neighborhood. Great to relive that neighborhood today through your interpretive eyes. Very special walk. Thanks again AK.

Court St changed. I grew up on Vanbrunt street in Red Hook and I was born a block from St. Mary's School on Liqueur St off Clinton. And I went to St. Mary's School. I love Brooklyn. Especially Red Hook, Carole Gardens and Cobble Hill. South West Brooklyn. I live in Manhattan and my heart is in Brooklyn.

I loved this walk Ken, especially the millionaire row walk and Brooklyn Heights area. I would love to see you do more historic neighborhood areas and any history about them. Even the historic old churches or buildings and especially cemeteries of the founding pioneers..

I worked in Downtown Brooklyn/Brooklyn Heights from 1984-1995, so it was nice to see these neighborhoods, with everybody walking around. I used to enjoy eating lunch on the Promenade. At that time, there were abandoned piers where Brooklyn Bridge Park is located, but the harbor views were fantastic. Someone already mentioned the movie Moonstruck, which was filmed partially in the area. You walked down Cranberry St. at the end; I believe Cher's character lived there. Nice job, AK.

Good job with this, now I can walk through the neighborhood I grew up in. Carroll Gardens/Red Hook. Incidentally the house they filmed the outside scenes for Patty Duke Show is on Remsen, between Henry and the Promenade.

See how fast you can walk from Red Hook to Cobble Hill! Back in the early 80's my friends and I and my sister and her friends we would all walk from Red Hook to Fulton street to the Metropolitan movie theater or the Dufield movie theater or Cobble Hill. We saw that movie,"The Outsiders together at Cobble Hill movie theater. Scarface at the Metropolitan. The Dufield movie theater closed in 1990 when they shot up the movie screen when New Jack City came out. That was dumb.

The artist studios are so cool and I loved Yesterday's News! I'm still watching off and on because I have work to do. AK did you see on CNN today? The Chinese man who rescued a child who was dangling by it's fingers outside the window of an 8th floor building? It's Amazing what he did. It made me cry tears of joy! He's a real Superman for sure! I wish I could send you the link but I'm sure you can find it. It will make your day, it made mine:-)

This is where we used to lived there. I’ve been in Red Hook for a few years and in Carroll Gardens as well, and it brings back some memories. I missed being there. The one at the very beginning is what it used to be a marketplace on the left including a small grocery store, a hair salon and a pizza place. But sadly, they tore it down a few years ago when it was replaced by a new building which is still under construction. The one on the right is what used to be Key Food and then Met Food where I used to go grocery shopping. I never like the new building since they replaced the small marketplace. 😢

So sad to hear about the marketplace being gone. Hopefully the new building has some space for businesses to move in.
