If you are just learning cello, like I, this is superb! Thank-you all for this wonderful, instructive, and play-alongable piece. It makes this look easy. And it is! So different from guitar. And yet, so similar. Thank-you players all.

Does anyone know which edition has this particular cadenza? I like it better than the one I have. Thanks in advance.

edition from Maurice Gendron!

I’m playing the Schott Edition and yes Claud is correct, it is Maurice Gendron. At least in the edition I’m playing, they have all the phrasing and articulations there for you so if you struggle with doing that yourself as I do sometimes, it’s ideal. You can extremely virtuosic without having to figure out as much on your own

Sounds like Romanticism music

I agree. Her playing is absolutely pristine but the interpretation is a bit too free for Haydn. Still though, much more elegant than many other recording I’ve listened to and her intonation is almost flawless which with this piece is truly a feat.
