I agree completely, he’s definitely above average, you could even say he’s at the top of the ‘very good’ tier of QB’s, just below the elites. He actually made some great throws last night. He had a lot of mustard on some throws that he had to thread the needle, nd he put the ball in some tight spots. Passes that Jones makes 1 out of 10. I tried to defend the Jones contract 2 years ago… I was hoping against hope that he would take that next step. He hasn’t, & if he ever does, it won’t be in a Giants uniform. It is absolutely time to move on from him. Unfortunately, ‘26 is a better QB class in the draft than ‘25. You have Ward, maybe Jaxson Dart… not much else unless someone comes on strong this year. And no, Shedeur Sanders is NOT the guy. The D played very well last night, and if Phillips &/or Jaxkson had been playing, who knows, they may have stopped some of those drives when it seemed like Prescott & Lamb were playing catch.

Jones has the 2nd most passing yards in the NFL currently he’s doing fine, we need to get out TEs involved for once, get our run game going so we don’t have to constantly throw the ball and trust these bum WRs to get us yards. We need to scheme guys open instead of tryna run plays that get us YAC.

It’s extremely unfair to blame this game on Daniel jones. We know what he is, he sucks, yes. However, truly if you asked yourself before the game started today what you expect out of him, would he meet expectations? I’d say yes. If you told me he’d have a 73% completion rate for 281 yards and 1 int I would take it. He’s not the best we know that. The fact of the matter is last season the first meeting with the cowboys ended in 0-40 this time 20-15 that’s a giant improvement. At the end of the day Daniel jones won’t be on the team in 2025 (hopefully) Malik Nabers is a dog and it’s looking like this rookie class could be the best complete class we’ve seen in a long time. The offensive line is astronomically better than I could have asked for from a O-Line that was the worst in nfl history. There’s a lot of good to take from it. Watching them convert 3rd down after 3rd down was amazing I throughly enjoyed the entire game.

Excellent post Brendan. One of the best Pass Protection by the Offense Line in 5 years. Nabers in 4 NFL games has already proved himself beyond a doubt against last 3 heroes that were busts Toney, Waller, and Golladay (combined 1500 yards with Giants). Defense has a core presently that has a likelihood of being dominant in a year or two. Jones cannot run like he did a few years ago and has too many injuries never mind he just forgot how to throw a TD. He will not play the 4th year of the contract for sure.

Yes, he missed a couple long throws, but he also made a couple clutch throws with his receivers covered. You also forget the self inflicted wounds by the offense, penalties hijacked a few drives. I am not the guy who complains about the referees, bad calls happen, and you must overcome them, but in the first half there were two times that the referees, were awful. The face mask call on the Giants when it was clear it was the Dallas player who grabbed the face mask, and the first Dallas TD that the penalty flag was picked up, why throw the flag if your going to pick it up. Yes, the problem is daboll doesn't trust jones to read on the 3rd and goal because jones doesn't have the ability to do it. As the rookie CB said last year, jones stares down his receivers when he is in that situation making it easy for the defenders to pick him. So the only solution is to take him out of the situation and give him a flat play. If it works, it works, if it doesn't it doesn't. We can sit here and try to pick out a bad playcall if we want, but that is just hacking the leaves off a rotten tree instead of discussing the core problem. The reason we are in this situation where we can't open up the playbook to not only the deep ball, but to read situations where you give your QB 3 or more options is because the QB can't handle it. He doesn't have the mental processing power to go through his progressions quickly enough. He stares down his receivers too often. He holds onto the ball too long and doesn't have pocket awareness. This is who daniel jones is, this is who he was for the past 5 years. Shurmer knew it, jason garret knew it, daboll knows it. This is why even though he had 4 different offensive coordinators, the basic playbook is the same for him. Shrink the field, limit his throwing options, give him designed runs. The only thing added this year was nabers. This is who daniel jone is and the coach did exactly what you wanted, he taylored the playbook around his skill set. All the OCs before did the same thing. The playbook and the results are always the same. And the only times daboll lets daniel jones read for himself and try to find an option, he ends up throwing the ipad in rage.

Daniel Jones is an adequate QB, not great, not bad. Their problem is that they have BAD players and they draft poorly. They have a first round pick in Evan Neal on the bench, Wandale was a second rounder who plays like a fifth rounder, Slayton doesn't belong on an NFL roster, and McFadden is not an NFL starter. I followed you a while ago because i thought it was a good channel. But how you portray and blame Jones for everything is almost to the point that you may not actually watch the games. No "faith" in his QB. That also means he doesnt have faith in their receivers (outside of nabers) who also has crucial drops to extend drives. TDs go hand in hand with the QB and receiver. The play calling has to be better in the red Zone and and DJ has to get better on deep balls. But after the years of getting beat relentlessly and now finally being able to attempt to throw them again this season. Theyre taking the chances. You're a fair weather fan. Theres blame to go around everywhere. But don't parade around like you do the deep dives when its glarring you don't. If they paid cook or tried to get a running back that could produce (and Motor is a decent back) but hes not someone that can break games open for you. Theres no plays called for TE (which im assuming they thought theyd have waller back so that would have helped tremendously in te RZ, but hes gone and theres a reason theyve been working out TE's the last few weeks. DJ week 1 compared to Week 4 has not been the same. QBs miss throws, it happens. Maybe his arm might not be the same due to the neck injuries, maybe he hasnt hit in sync with his receivers. But he's playing better and the drops have to stop on critical drives. The loss isn't soley on him, but the fact that they can get into the Redzone now and at least put up field goals is a win. Of course you dont want to settle and eventually some of those will become Tds. But the play callling down there has to be better. Thats what having a decent TE can help with, which is hard to tell if we have one, because of the personnel they come out in. The deep shots are great to have also. But when you have 1 person that you can trust to catch them, its far and few between. Cant blame DJ for the play calling and drops. Get creative and at least hes hittinf the receivers.

I try to watch this podcast, but every time i come here it's depressing to watch. always downing Gms , coaches, and players, what's next. Y'all going to start downing the ball boys, and cheer leaders? oh i forgot we don't have any. but they still may down them. I never seen GIANTS fans down their own team like this podcast do. Smh, To Eaches own. In the face of adversity, true colors always reveal themselves. When the pressure is on, many fans get extra frustrated, and vent stupid stuff out of anger. lmaooooo Like they can go out there on the field and do better. I'm not putting Daniel Jones on a pedestal, I'm just saying I respectfully disagree on your take on Jones far as last night's game bro. Wasn't his fault, All those drooped passes by our WRs and TE Cost us the game. Them drops stopped drives, and scoring opportunities. Those passes were dead on target. Wandell dropped a couple, Slayton dropped a couple, Nabers dropped the most important one to keep the drive alive on 4th down. That TE Johnson dropped a couple during the game as well.
