Nyiragongo Volcano, Virunga NP, DR Congo [Amazing Places 4K]

Mount Nyiragongo is an active volcano in Virunga National Park, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Trekking to the crater rim (starting at 1,989m/6,525ft, reaching 3,470m/11,380ft) is about 5-6 hours, the hikers sleep in huts on the top and enjoy stunning night views of one of only several crater lakes in the world, this one being the largest.
Virunga National Park, in the eastern part of DR Congo, was the first Africa's national park, established in 1825, and UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979.

Many people's last breaths here were being covered by lava flow making their last moments on earth an excruciating ordeal no one should have to endure. Tropical. RAIN forest! In Hawaii during their 2018 eruption lava was fountaining out of fissures in the ground & the vegetation either side did not immediately catch fire.

In fact the crater is not close enough to feel the warmth, and that night on the rim was very windy and cold. Erta Ale lava lake in Ethiopia was really close and warm :)

Well, it is not exactly Indian (you can find info about the music in the video description). The artist is called Rapoon, he is creating Ambient, Electronic, Experimental music, looks like he used parts of the Indian song in his mix (several people already mentioned the Indian song)

How much did you have to pay for the Congo hikes, if you don't mind asking? And did you book them from Congo or from a nearby country and then they took care of taking you inside Congo and then out? I read that getting into Congo (visa and logistics) is not as easy as in other countries.

You can do all this via the Virunga national park website, they arrange everything, including the visa (valid only for Virunga), and they are very good, and reliable. They have also all prices on the website, make sure to calculate the transportation between the sites, they are not cheap, because armed rangers are included

Do you have any special settings you need to set on your camcorder to take these night pictures?

My cam is not very good at night shots (like the full frame cameras are), usually I either avoid night shots or trying to catch more light for the shots I take. No special settings but I always observe the automatic settings and adjust them if needed
