So, the egg fly is tied to 4 feet of fluorocarbon below the swivel, according to the schematic. Then where and how do you attach the other four feet seemingly going from the egg fly to the zonker (still according to the schematic)? Thank you kindly

This idea that to be successful you must be on the bottom is the reason most people using fly gear for steelhead have no idea what they're doing. We've all seen it. Ungodly (and often illegal) amounts of lead on the leader yet we'll call it fly fishing. May as well just use spinning gear.

The fly rod allows quick repetition, but takes practice and experience,as it can be difficult with this type of rig
