Excellent video Tom 🎣👍. Cos when I had the chance to move from, Sudbury Ontario to B.C Mission district. Didn't think twice. Multiple species of Salmon, Sturgeon & BIG trout. As I live a 8 minute drive away from the mighty Frazer River 🎣😃.

its is about the size of water for distance, but also about when swinging streamers are the primary method of fishing. easier for better presentation, line mending, fighting the fish is also more fun in my opinion with a slower rod and the bottom handle being like a large fighting butt. U can nymph, and use dries, but ur skating them. here in BC is pretty much 100% swinging streamers. I use my spey rod everywhere so size of water isnt really a factor for me. I fish rivers with my 12'6" 6wt that can be maybe 30'-40' wide with no issue. Once i started with two handed rods, I rarely feel theres ever a scenario it doesnt excel. thing is this is for salmon/steelhead. for trout i still use a singlehand for the added versitiliy of switching from dries to nymphs to streamers. if fishing for salmon/steelhead only, all u ever need is a spey rod with some sinktips and steamers.

on the contrary, this guide is a great guide. Toms such a poor sport with a bad attitude all the time lol. The guide was pretty much trying to tell his audience how diverse the species are. He told him early on to go with the single hand first then the big rods lol, theres no rush. Also, if youre a seasoned angler, land your own fish lol.

does the guide consistently tell himself no harm done because he is constantly harming fish with horrid handling?

What did you find wrong with his handling? He dragged that one steelhead over some rocks, but I didn’t see many other problems. Still a novice here and would like to learn
