Wow, the Esk Valley Line looks beautiful descending down the Esk Valley Line. Lovely cab ride from the tender of 62005 :-)

Excellent clear video but confiused about the soundtrack. I pressume it was taken from the tender but don't know why there were no whistles at the W signs (is it optional)?

Wonderful, love these "cab ride" type video's we get to see so much of the Yorkshire countryside. Thank you so much.

3:47 was that a dead sheep on the line?

Thanks. It looks lovely in the winter sunshine. 🙂 Does the NYMR run scheduled services on this section of the line or are trips like this one-off specials?
@nymrfootage2 жыл бұрын
This was filmed during crew training that ran for one week last year. The railway doesn't run scheduled services or one off trips at the moment.

@@nymrfootage Thanks for the almost instant reply! What I was trying to establish was why the NYMR was running a train on that section of line at all. Do NYMR crews need to be familiar with it?
@nymrfootage2 жыл бұрын
@@nigelgarvey2046 Even though the NYMR don't run a regular service, crews still need to maintain competence over the Esk Valley line. We do occasionally crew guest engines that come to the NYMR for steam galas via the mainline. Therefore crews need to keep their competence e.g. route knowledge for operating from Battersby.

What are those tower-like structures on the lineside?
@nymrfootage2 жыл бұрын
They are GMSR masts for the onboard mobile phones that the driver uses in an emergency
