NYMR Steam Gala 2024 (29.09.2024)

Greetings from Melbourne Australia. I have enjoyed watching your excellent videos of the first three days of the NYMR Gala. Especially without the rain; the first day (26th) was extremely wet with rain for most of the day. I actually attended that first day of the Gala ending up saturated. Being based in Whitby meant I had limited Train rides, travelling behind Locos 4953 and 34028 as well as D7628 on the Whitby Shuttles. Mind you, I enjoyed a Pint at Goathland though! G’day Tony, just to let you know that I generally visit Britain each year. I am a Member of Llangollen Railway, Talyllyn Railway and Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. I also like to visit other Lines such as NYMR, MHR, Bluebell Railway and FR/WHR. I am from Derby and worked for British Railways from 1959 to 1968 based in Derby. Then migrated to OZ; however, I left the Railway industry until I commenced Volunteering on Puffing Billy Railway near Melbourne in 1994 and still do five days a week. Cheers - Puf’n-Pete

@@peterstowell2976 Sounds very interesting! I haven’t visited any of those railways which you are a member of. Well maybe next year you may just come across me, most probably the NYMR if you visit there as I tend to go there every week!
