Phoebe Snow. Just the warmest kindest sweetest person you could ever imagine. And she is a musical genius with the voice of an angel.

As a product of the 60's and 70's I learned to appreciate a wide range of music. While I leaned toward rock music, I could see the talent in the likes of the Carpenters and other soft rock musicians. There was always something about this song that had me singing the words. It just had that sound that made you want to sing along. I was sad to see she passed just two short years after this performance. Much too young. Thanks for the great music, Phoebe. RIP

Every time I meet someone for the first time I ask...so who is your favorite band or musician? It saves a lot of time getting to know you and kind of gives me an idea of where they are coming from. Just met someone about an hour ago and he said I like the female singers. So I said Pat Benatar or Stevie Nicks? He said no I like Phoebe Snow. Excellent choice I had the pleasure of seeing her with Becker/Fagen (Steely Dan), Michael McDonald, and Boz Skaggs at Great Woods in the early 90s and right before she passed away touring with Roger Waters on the Wall tour in Phoenix, Arizona. Great choice I told him. Just got home and I've been listening to all her great music. Forgot what a great talent she was. Glad I met this person and asked him my question. Pelman

On this day in 1976 {July 30th} Phoebe Snow performed "Poetry Man" on the NBC-TV program 'The Midnight Special'... One year earlier on June 20th, 1975 she first appeared on 'The Midnight Special' and at that time also performed "Poetry Man"... The song peaked at #5 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart and #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Singles chart... Sadly, Ms. Snow passed away on April 26th, 2011 at the young age of 60... May she R.I.P.
