Today we learned that Rangsk will not be cooking spicy fish tonight 🙂

I'm not sure I would enjoy cloved mullet anyway. 😁

There was a strands awhile back where the theme was spices and mace was one of the words.

I know my spices! Mace tastes similar to nutmeg because it in fact comes from the outer covering of the nutmeg. 😊

Very good Connections! I thought "to thumb" was "to flop" and I didn't know riffle or mace. I might have gotten the singers if I had given it an hour. But I didn't. Good Sunday Mini My time was 1:16. Nice Strands! I got this with minimal clicks.

I had learned the word SEGUE from reading, and always thought it would rhyme with LEAGUE. News articles around the launch of the Segway educated me on that point.

I think mace the spice is the same thing used to make mace the pepper spray.

I'd have been slightly faster on the mini if I hadn't thought segue was spelt segway - But prams was a rarity of a mini crossword clue where it's an advantage to not be American on. Also was down to purple and yellow on the connections but wasn't able to disentangle the spices. ETA: A game I've been enjoying recently that's similar to Connections is Stacks, which is a Connections fan game with 15 words divided into groups of 5, 4, 3, 2 and a single ungrouped item.

It's gibbous, like giving, and it looks like a full moon but missing a crescent.

Nice solve I made 3 mistakes because I didn't see light blue right away and made two ridiculous guesses before I had the Aha moment. I'm sure you know the feeling. Check out my ridiculous guesses: THUMB LEAF SPEAR CLOVE: Informal measurements used in cooking FLIP THUMB RIFFLE SPEAR : Antagonize When I was down to yellow and purple I made one extra error. KEY MACE CLOVE MAR: Damage (as in keying one's car, club with a mace, Clove might mean to clobber and Mar to scratch). This is what happens when you struggle and you have nothing. I had no idea on the purple. I could not name one song of any of those artists. Though at least I have heard of Brittney Spears and Harry Styles. The other two, no.

Hah, I also put "Trams" at first too until I found Grasp and corrected myself

I guess if you ever can't remember which phase of the moon is gibbous, just spell it backwards: suobbig, which makes sense, because gibbous is 51% to 99%! 🌔 🌖

The g in Gibbous is pronounced as in Gibbon. I knew it was a moon related word, but could not have defined it. When I typed it, my phone offered me two suitable moon emojis! 🌔 🌖

Gibbous threw me off too.

Are mace and clove not common spices in the US? I've seen several people struggle with that category - I got it instantly (UK resident) - They're all commonly used spices here.
@AsuraSantoshaКүн бұрын
I don't see people use mace much, but it's definitely widely available. Clove is definitely used frequently, particularly around the holidays.
@gemma3877Күн бұрын
PRAM is short for the rather wonderful PERAMBULATOR. Which would be fairly long to fit into a mini. No one calls them that nowadays, much like with brassiere versus bra.

it's spelled "non sequitor" btw

Connections Puzzle #553 🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟨🟨🟨🟨 I stared at the last 2 categories for a bit before figuring out purple. Like you I didn't know that mace was a spice on its own. I had thought of the category earlier but couldn't figure out the 4th one, and I wasn't 100% sure Clove counted on its own either.
