Hello! I've been watching your NYT sudoku videos for a couple weeks now, and it's really transformed my game. I used to get stuck early on, then brute force my way through the rest, which was slow and tedious. Now I'm finding much more flow and fun, thank you!

I got stuck at the same place as you. Once I'd found that 4 in the bottom left hand corner, it made placing the naked 4 in box 9 much easier, and from there it was downhill all the way! :)

This is was a tough one for me as well. It took me MUCH longer than you to find that naked 6 in r6. Astonishingly, through sheer brute force I found a swordfish on 4s and that let me clean up some centermarks. When you found that 1,2 pair in r9c8, there was a naked 4 in r7c8 (it was part of the swordfish). My solve collapsed after that, but it took me 45 minutes to finish. Thanks for another fun solve.

I was relieved that this was a harder puzzle! I got stuck at the exact same place and couldn’t get any further. I realize I have to not be so shy about all of my markings. I didn’t have the one two pair because I was not aggressive enough in marking my cells.

Nice job! I struggled until I found that 4 on the top left box and then everything pretty much unfolded from there!

Good puzzle… emphasising again and again values of pairs and triples, but most importantly values of naked singles because naked singles, open up the puzzles… 782 triple in the middle column, 78 pair intercepting in box 8, row 9, removing the 2, in the former 278 triple in column 6, 37 pair intercepting in box 6. Completing box 2 as the result of 278 triple. 56 pair in box 2 column 4 then getting single 6 in c5r4, following on on the 6 to box in c2r6.. a 6… most important is a naked 4 in c2r1.. after the 4 the puzzle breaks… tough sudoku…😢

Actually, you can notice very early on, at 17:37 that the down right square has a very obvious position for the 4... made me laugh when I realized it

There is an interesting fact about the sudoku grid. The digits in R3, R6, C3&C6 contain the SAME digits that are in the 4 cells in each corner. If the above rows & columns contain 0 #5s, for example, the #5s can only be in the 4 corner blocks located outside of the blocks 4 corner cells. Have you ever used this as a method for solving a puzzle?

Did you mean R7 and C7 instead of R6 and C6? If so I think you're describing the Phistomefel Ring, which I've only used when the puzzle is constructed by someone who designed it to be useful. I have an Advanced Sudoku video that utilized it for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqKsk2Oglt6hadk
