You can tell that Obama isn't talking to Friedman but to the Iraqis and Kurds. I think that these are things that the President has told them in private, maybe through diplomats, and that this interview was to show that he means it. This is achieved by Obama coming out public and essentially "burning the bridge" of the idea that the US will always bail them out. That's why he chose to do the interview with this gentleman, Friedman, someone who'll let Obama speak and will be compliant.

Barack Obama is at his zenith when he is speaking about people and bringing two divided sides together. My hope is that when he leaves the Oval Office, he will work on Civil Rights in America. I agree wholeheartedly that it should be a last resort. Not all Americans are eager for military force. There is a large peace movement here. I think the reason some Americans are eager here is, partly, an overconfidence that our military can solve some of these problems based on past victories and our financial power. It seems a simple direct solution. The reality, as President Obama explains so well, is a long term solution requires more than military, but supporting democracies, bringing people together where possible, and their ability to lead re: their own security. But I think many people don’t believe that harder solution will ever be successful. Of course, none of this discusses the moral issues, which for me and many Americans are just as important.

저는 지금의 광란의 현장을 보려고 살아온 것은 아닌데 지켜보는 것조차 너무 힘들다 이미 함몰된 현장을 처참하게 무너진 종말을 볼려고 본인은 힘든 날들을 견딘 것이 아니다 하지만 이들은 더욱더 광란의 길로 가고 있으니 통제불능.. 그들은 구제불능 상태로 지옥 종말을 택한 것같다

오바마 전 대통령님 저는 평소 성격이 남과 싸우는 것을 죽도록 싫어하는 사람입니다 웬만하면 상대 입장을 생각하여 항상 이해를 하여 양보 손해를 감수하고 조용히 마무리를 하고 살아왔는데 이무슨 괴변이 저를 싸움투사로 이용 악용하는 현실판에 더욱 환멸 느끼며 본인 그 고통을 받을때 지구는 함몰 종말지경이다 제가 눈감으면 지구도 종말이라는 사실을 모르고 우선 돈에 급급한 그런 사람들이 정말 싫고 본인 그런사람들과 부딛치며 싸우며 살아가는 것은 의미가 없다 차라리 죽음을 택하고 싶은 심정입니다 제가 죽으면 돈을 가져가나요 빈손으로 가는데 저는 더이상 버틸 시점이 한계가 온 것같아요 제가 죽으면 다 가질것처럼 나쁜사람들이 그런 착각을 하지만 제가 지구와 이별은 지구가 사라지는 무서운 현실을 모르고 살아가는 이들 속에
