im still in high school (junior year) and nyu has been my dream for almost a year but after reading through some stuff i have been having second thoughts (especially because of the tuition fees and debt after graduating), i wanted to ask, is all that worth?

it really depends on your situation, but yea the financials is also a negative weight when it comes to pricey schools like nyu. maybe just evaluate all your options and try to see which might be the best choice in the long run

You rank your options and they take your rankings into consideration, but ultimately they assign you! Hope this helps :)

hi!! yes I think it is : ) since it has so many people, its cheaper than an option with just two people but it's also a very common layout!

Yes! Each room comes with a fridge and microwave thankfully 😊

Did you apply to be in a triple then nyu sets u up to be connected with a double or??? is this a suite? Sorry, i might be wrong abt all this

I think if you apply for the triple they will try to assign you to the triple, but if you apply for the double , you can either get placed in a room with just a double or a room with a double that’s connected to a triple :)

they vary in price- you can find out the specific prices on their site; but yes i would generally say housing is pretty expensive.. a cheaper alternative could be searching for an apartment on your own : ) many people move out of NYU dorms/housing after their first year

Can you choose your halls

you can rank your preferences for them and then they assign you based on that-but you don't always get your top picks unforunately. Once you've been assigned, there are also ways you can switch throughout the year if extra space somehow opens up

I think on campus housing can often be pricier than better deals you can find on your own- generally dorming tends to be a somewhat pricey option compared to getting an off campus apartment
