You can tell he was looking for an inside pitch so he could bunt to third. He only got the up and in. Had he hunted the outside fastball it likely would have gone to the pitcher or first baseman and Longoria was playing deep to be able to tag Gardner in that situation. Jeter did the right thing.

A guy on 2nd -- and a speedy one at that -- and no outs. Anybody in their right mind would bunt. Trading one out to get a guy over to 3rd, where even contact that doesn't make it past the infield would most likely score him, is probably the easiest decision in all of baseball. Especially when it's a close game.

Pitcher should have thrown the last pitch back high and on the inside of the plate. He had Jeter completely off-balance and worst case scenario, Jeter would have popped up. That last pitch was absolutely awful
