What a shot! Would you be okay with me featuring this go around in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!

0:16 Have you recorded any bird strikes?
@WLGLIVEАй бұрын
I think maybe one but quite some time ago and did not affect the plane

More like be a touch and go.

The same flight three days later had a much worse experience, but the person who videoed it is withholding the video from public view. I don't understand why they go around after touchdown. Why take off again just because the landing wasn't perfect?
@KiwiKaosAgentАй бұрын
Did they land too long? Have seen worse than that from Wellington and they've still stuck the landing.
@WLGLIVEАй бұрын
Maybe.. It does seem to be further down the runway than usual.. But they nailed it on the second go
@brandyballoonАй бұрын
The runway length required will be different for each flight depending on the plane, weight and wind. Probably could've stopped with room to spare but I expect the pilots would prefer to avoid heavy braking.
@KiwiKaosAgentАй бұрын
@@brandyballoon Exactly my point, I think he landed too long and decided to power out before going into the water on the other side of the harbour. I've been in that situation once before. It gets the heart rate going for a moment or two.

Amazing video

Might have saved pilot induced porpoising. Nose wheel saved. Obviously expecting go around and initiated prior to touchdown anyway. Engines don’t spoil up for 6-8 seconds. Interesting.

It went around and landed on the second go.. Nothing too special on that one..
