Great Stuff again Nick. There are a lot of guys out there on KZbin for doing things with resin or a lathe but you do it in a way with some funny and entertaining part. Not many out there who got this talent. The only one who do this to is Bobby Duke Arts. Surprised by every video you do thanks a lot.

When you know you’ll hollow out something why don’t you ever use an internal structure like pvc pipe or tubing of some kind? Could save you resin money and time.
@skeeterflores
@skeeterflores 4 жыл бұрын
I thought about this but a couple things come to mind. 1. It wouldn't work with large pieces mixed with resin 2. It would have to be capped at one end and still settle in its spot 3. Would though pour around it or press it in? Pouring may not ensure equal distribution on add-in and press in may also disturb attractive distribution 4. If the add-in is light in either weight or amount, the filler may not remain upright so all his molds would need a lid of some kind to keep the filler centered.

Number of holes: There were 11 vertical ones to start with and I'm estimating 48 around (Looked like a quarter of the pot contained 12) so there could have been 528 to start with. After it was trimmed, there were 8 vertical holes leaving 392 at the end, if i got the number of holes in the circumference right. It was a lot of holes to drill however many there were! Good for teaching you patience! Love the pencil tips, you should definitely make something else with them.

Dear Nick, I would like to kindly know how you clean out the resin mixing pot after pouring the resin. I always had to throw away my mixing pot after the pour. And how do you evaluate how much resin you need to mix? Dont stop the waffling. Why dont you spray the molds with silikone spray? That way you get them out easier. Love all your projects.

Now if you can recycle/reuse the old case somehow, everything will come full circle!

From a rough estimate I think there are 250 holes. If half the cover has 22 holes on one side, and there are 11 rows, then 11x22=242. Round up to 250. Edit: actually 500 for the whole thing.

wait... you forgot to Double up... you made only half of the cover... so by your own estimate, the entire case has around 500 holes...

Nick this is one of my favorite projects of yours. I love how the pencils seem to float around and the fit is just as satisfying to me. Thank you for another great video. I'm working my way through your content and having a grand time.

If you put resin in a piece of pipe and put the pipe on a rotating hotdog rack, would it cure around the inside and be hollow?

so he asked for the number of holes so lets do some mathhhh, if there is 11 holes a row and assuming the side could see half of the rows then that is 21 rows a half so 42 pin total. so then 42 x 11 = 462 holes in total drilled by hand. Approximately, i was say give or take an error if 3 rows so 33 holes so more between 429 and 495 holes

Amaya Sokanon I was guessing 10-11 columns x 42-45 rows like you were.

Question: why don’t you put another form inside the mold to create a hollow space so you’re not wasting so much stuff?

I absolutely love your videos. They always relax me and wind me down at the end of the day. I especially like how you just roll with the punches, if you hit a bump, you just keep going, it's so relatable and endearing. It's great how excited you get about projects. 💡Really loved the potpourri pot, have you thought about doing something like a toothbrush holder using toothbrushes, or pasta container using different types of funky pasta? Keep it up, excellent content!
