Thought it looked like Dartmoor then read the comment and it was! My favourite O'Carolan tune.

This is probably one of the finest versions l have ever heard of O'Carolans Draught superb, and it just shows the ease you play to what is unforgiving tempo and notation

Would rank it up there with De Dannan's, but I think I like this rendition even more. Very nice interplay with the two instruments.

Have you heard O'Carolan's Draft Excluder. It is a windy piece but nice.

This is a lovely version of my favorite O'Carolan piece. If you enjoy this, De Danann's recording is also worth hearing.

One of my all time favourite tunes. I learned it in the early 1970ies from Alec Finn of DeDannan and have always wondered why so few people play it. It seems to be one of the tunes that was strongly influenced by Turlough O' Carrollan's stay in Italy and the music of Corelli and Geminiani. Nice playing too. Greetings from Germany.

Many thanks. I first learnt this from Arty McGlynn's version recorded on "McGlynn's Fancy", it's always been a favourite of mine since then.
@michaelstaadt80122 жыл бұрын
@@LouisBinghamMusic Ah, Arty McGlynn, one of the few who played trad tunes on the guitar (Dick Gaughan is another fine example). The floating crowbar was one of Arty's as well, if I'm not mistaken. A pity the old lad died in 2019. Probably swapping tunes with Hendrix now. Cheers.

Where did you read that O'Carolan visited Italy during his lifetime?
@dermur686 ай бұрын
@@dbadagna There's no historical evidence to suggest that Turlough ever visited Italy. Obviously there's a strong Baroque influence on his music which he may have heard through the cultural exchanges within Ireland, but there's no record or indication that he traveled to Italy himself. It's a nice romantic notion but extremely doubtful that it happened.
