As a believer in Christ, I think this story of Kuha'o is one of God's gifts to the world.

If you are not intimately familiar with the words to this song, I would exort you look them up as you listen to this song, or listen to Voice Male or Jericho Road sing their versions as well. It is a song of a pleading nation, Israel pleading with their God to come and save them as they mourn in exile and captivity. Israel's people have but one hope, the coming Messiah, their sweet and strong radiant ray of light, which shines through darkness and dispair, and frees them, frees all of us, so that we can return to our Father's presence. This is one of my favorite Christmas hymns, and is one of the most meaningful Christmas hymns in my opinion. This version is angelic.

I wasn't expecting to feel inspired when I clicked on this. I was simply expecting two talented musicians playing a good song. But Lindsey, you and Kuha'o have completely blown my mind. I am an atheist yet I find this video absolutely beautiful and love the message she's trying to portray to us. So it saddens me that some people are bashing on this because of the religious aspect. This video inspires me so much i'm crying. My kind of illness isnt one you can physically see. I was diagnosed with severe ADD and depression after my mom found out i was suicidal and it turned out my awful grades were attributed to a developmental disorder. I have been on so many medications and just today keep wanting to just give up on life after feeling like such an idiot in school for so many years and struggling with social isolation. Thank you so much, to help me remember that my disadvantages dont define me; i cant give in.

I love the inspirational message that came with this. I'm a guitarist myself that is self taught as I play by ear and don't know how to read music. But I find out that a lot of the best guitarists around are also self taught as well and praise God for that. My dearest Mother and Father loved this song. We sang it in Danish (Stille nat, hellige nat) on Christmas Eve before opening our presents in the Scandinavian custom. This was in the 1950's into the 1970's while I lived at home. Mom's last night at home before being hospitalized was Christmas Eve, as she lay gray and ashen on the couch. Dad died in the hospital at Noon on Christmas Eve four years later. It was sad at first but now it is comforting that their deaths happened around their favorite day of the year. For all the love, wonderful home, strict parenting and wise guidance you gave me I cherish your memories. Love, Steve. 😊

Holland Kinney Mormons are a "small" denomination of Christianity. So some ppl think they are different. But when some says they are "Christian", they are often, Lutheran, Protestant, Baptist, etc. But they aren't just general Christian...unless I suppose they are Fundamentalist Christian...but that too is rare. Catholics are also "Christian". However, I think on the opposite end of the spectrum, since the Catholic church so much larger, they feel they can distiguish themselves by saying that they are "Catholics", vs. othet Christians.

This was always my favorite Christmas song they'd play at my Church as a child, and while I'm not religious, I still love this song and enjoy going to Church at Christmas time simply for the music. People put too much into religion. Just "love thy neighbour" and enjoy life to the fullest. The people who preach about Jesus and who are unwilling to open their minds ruin its message and become hypocritical in their own views.
