I love watching you play! I keep showing my 15 year old son your videos because he’s in piano and when I showed him this his smart mouth said “wow, he’s left the audience speechless.” All jokes aside, your music invokes emotion and your own style is in there and you can tell that you really enjoy what you’re doing! Keep up the great work. You’re very inspiring young man!

@@JasillePiano I did.. just subscribed.. I've been a musician my whole life, my son is as well.. we both like almost every style of music as long as it's clean and decent and moving.. there's a big difference between a musician and someone who can play music.. almost anyone can take lessons and learn to play an instrument but you can always tell a real musician by the passion they have, the perfection they strive for and the way the music moves them and the people they're playing for.. there's so much more to it than just entertainment.. I've only saw this one video of yours but I believe you are a true musician..

From a fellow KZbin account holder, you clearly have a decent amount of musical talent and have learned much about the piano. To improve with some constructive feedback, you could think more about (1) phrasing, (2) pedaling, and (3) articulation. (1) Phrasing lyrically should allow your melodic lines to be supported with more rhythmic elements of the piece. You are playing the notes correctly, but you are not presenting them with an understanding of aesthetics, or beauty value. I know the hymn, but what I do not hear is that you understand the threads of melody and harmony separately. You are on your way, but try practicing each hand separately and really listen to when something is melody or when it is a supporting element. (2) Pedaling cleanly is crucial and easily forgotten. Make sure that your sustain pedal is not kept depressed when you are changing phrases, chords/harmonic clusters, transitioning between dynamically different phrases, etc. Try practicing completely without pedal, then add it back only in select areas until there is just enough. Right now its a bit muddied in your recording. (3) Already you know where the notes are. Great start. To smooth your presentation, try to position each arm around clusters of notes rather than stretch into areas where you are not prepared to play the notes. Also, try different ways of pressing the piano keys. If you listen carefully, you might hear that your broken eighth notes are choppy. Try to texture them deliberately, whether emphasizing the first in the pair, extending a "hairpin" crescendo-decrescendo across them, or softening them entirely to accentuate the melody. May God richly bless you as you continue to play the piano.
