Were the players able to choose which pics they shared? Or did he just ask for the phone? This question makes a difference. If he asked the players to show pictures they were comfortable showing it’s all blown out of proportion. If he asked for access to the phone so he could look then it’s a different story. None of the media is talking about this. Senior players are totally fine with how it played out. This whole situation sounds like a witch cancel culture hunt.

I have a question, why do these NHL clubs continue to bring back dinosaur coaches over and over? they fire them and hire them again like they must recycle ♻️ when there are so many young coaches who undoubtedly have great potential. When you go into the NHL you sign a contract. And in doing so you agree to represent the organization, act in its best interests, and abide by their code of ethics. They’re investigating him to see if he committed an ethics violation. Don’t like these terms? Then don’t sign the contract.

@@jaymie-lee there was a potential for legal exposure. Using power to look through private photos is bad. If a girl sends one of those hockey players a nude that’s saved, Babs violates that persons privacy if he sees that. The girl sent it to the hockey player not the coach. There is something called reasonable expectation of privacy. In general organizations try to avoid lawsuits which could come out of situations like this.

The talking heads are doing themselves a disservice by not articulating actually why this story has legs. Babcock didn't look to try and find sexts and stuff on peoples phones. He'd be fired already and have no one defending him if that's what happened. He did it to see who has the "right" makeup (family, wife, dog, big front lawn) and to hold it against players who don't. For example, hey guys , look at Boone and Johny's awesome families. Where's yours? Hence, why vets are ok with it. But will Babcock hold a grudge/treat differently the 20 yr old who rents an apartment and is single? Will he discirminate and treat those players differently because he doesn't think they're mature enough?That's the story here. It's still a power trip but not the one that these idiots (0-dog) are mentioning.
