Hard to believe that 4MT is live steam! Its speed was so consistent both up and down grade. Likewise the NE 2-8-0.

@@Roy-gi5ul actually the 4MT is battery RC. However the LNER O5 is!

1. All these live steam locos must b scratch built? And perhaps the same w the cars? 2. What's the exact scale used vs. the track gauge? 1/43.5 (Brit's), 1/48 (USA), bodies on 1 1/4" Ga tracks?
@DrDave_63395Ай бұрын
@@schutendohkji548 In 7mm o gauge there is very little commercial live steam so unfortunately you have to build from scratch. On the other the track is widely available are are the wagons and carriages. You can mix and match scales of course and run them on the same track. Many years back I converted the wheels on my Lady Anne to GOG standard wheel profile so I can run her on the same track.

@@DrDave_63395 I C. Thx. I c some of ur locos have more and better details than our factory produced 1/32 scale Ga. 1 mainline ones. Yes, i've got a Rndhse Lady Anne too. Incidentally, her wheel profile followed G1MRA standard though she can b re-gauged betwn 1 1/4" - 1 3/4" (32mm/45mm) gauges. Yes, i can c u had to scale down her feet as perhaps, her flanges r too fat, picking the turnout points, run over the frog's trough, do same on the guard rails etc. But still, i don't like no fillet betwn the tyre and the flange on either the 1/32 or 1/19th scale whl profile. The generous fillet radius provides keeping the flange away from the rail edges for its protection/longer life. I was a car inspector also to gauge the tyre profile for pass or fail test so i learned what the out in the field can do to the wheels, including sharpened like a Pizza Cutter flange, even a welded tyre bc. of the brake rubber had worn out and the steel portion of the shoe got welded onto the tyre, totally blued steel, ugly patched steel pieces. I noticed that the UK prototype wheel has sharper flange and not much fillet vs. the US's FRA standard. I don't know if dat's how the whl came out new from the factory or just got worn out. Yet, ur famous LNER A3 Flying Scotsman did like 10K miles across the US Continent. Wonder if her tyres (tires in the US) had 2B turned by then. Sorry, nuf details. Superb looking and superb running 0-scale engines on the layout. I don't dink(think) there r any live steam 0-scale club or a dedicated 0-scale brass live steam hobbyist here in the States so it's so wonderful 2C ur video. Thx again!

Are all these custom built or are they built from a kit? These look great!
@DrDave_63395Ай бұрын
@@olli2447 most are scratch built. Sometimes we use a kit for the superstructure.
