O'Hangana Manyawa (Forest People of Tobelo Halmahera)

On the island of Halmahera, North Mollucas, more than 300 mining permits threaten the existence of priceless tropical forests. Illegal logging is also a problem for indigenous people in the village of Forest Tobelo people in Dodaga village. Deeply concerned with the condition of their forests that they struggle to resist.
Together with Abe Ngingi, an activist from AMAN, indigenous poples seek to develop a variety efforts to protect customary forest in Halmahera.

Very well made video, I experienced the same issues back in 2012 when visiting Halmahera. Lots of locals believed I was from an overseas mining company searching for land. Many people seemed to be upset about logging and mining. Thanks for texting the video into English. Best regards from Sweden!
