The Holy Spirit being called the the Consoler/Comforter always brings tears to my eyes for some reason, such a gentle loving title

(O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, who art in all places and fillest all things, Treasury of blessings and giver of life: come and dwell in us, cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls)

it is amazing how bursting with theology the hymns are

A beautiful prayer and an excellent video. A priest once told me to meditate on parts of this prayer ("filling all things", "giver of life",...) on my regular bushwalks which i find a great meditation on the Holy Spirit's Work in creation.

Thank you so much. The Romanian translation says Emperor...But when I search to translate it in English from Romanian it says, King... Our Church Fathers translated each prayer to the best of our understanding which is so beautiful... no words.

If you like that prayer, check out the Hymns of Ascent (Gk. Anabathmoi). There's a different set for each of the 8 tones, and each includes hymns to the Holy Spirit 🔥

I’m still discovering orthodoxy, and coming from a Protestant background I was always told praying to the Holy Spirit or worshiping the Holy Spirit is wrong.

I love your videos, and I showed my Priest and he loves them too, but he's made me aware of the fact that he couldn't find which diocese and particular Bishop you are under, and whether or not you have a blessing to put this work out. As a result, he cannot, in good conscience, recommend your work to catechumens, despite how useful and educational it is. I was wondering if you could publish that so that him and many other priests could recommend your videos more openly and easily. Thank you, God bless you. ☦️🙏

Question from a novice; if I understand correctly, this prayer is most applicable to a certain time of the year. Would you mind specifying the dates? Thanks in advance.
@PatristixАй бұрын
This prayer is applicable every day ALL year. It is however a tradition that we don't pray it between Easter (Pascha) and Pentecost 50 days later. The dates for this of course change every year!
@benderrodriguez23Ай бұрын
@@Patristix Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.
@s.d.berquist6866Ай бұрын
Also, I was told that this tradition is so that we “ fast” so to speak from the prayer in order to appreciate it even more once the feast of Pentecost comes.
