Rhythm maestro Taufeeq Qureshi had explained the genius of Pancham da in this song. The starting melody which sounds a like a percussion instrument is a mix with the guitar. Pancham da actually used the guitar like a tabla and ended the note with a धा on the guitar instead of the tabla. A masterpiece composition and such a pleasure listening to it in your voice Rahul. The magical trio Gulzar - RD - Kishore da deserve a big applause for this and the beauty of your rendition is that it gives a fresh outlook. And yes, we didn't hear Kishore da in this, we heard Rahul singing, great dialogue with us, felt like I was sitting in the room listening to you!

Very well sung and well explained. Purists somehow don't like Kishore Kumar, but in my opinion, Kishore da is the greatest playback singer, he understands situation of the song, the emotions involved and delivers to perfection. Like you said he does it with ease yet when one tries to sing the way KK did it is not simple by any means. You did a phenomenal rendition
