Thank you for putting this together with Les Johnson. I've followed him for many, many years and I've always marveled at how much information he is willing to freely share with those who are learning or still learning the finer points around coyote hunting. Seeing him again during this pod cast and listening to his stories only reinforces the knowledge he has gleaned from his many years spent in the field. It would be AWESOME if you were able to put together a collaboration at some point in the future. Great job on this podcast - one of your best in my opinion.

Great Interview! Worth the 2 1/2 hours to fully understand hunting coyote's and how all this works in getting a show on TV. If one doesn't appreciate what great guy's like Les and you two have to go thru to file and get a TV show on TV, then you don't need to watch this! These guy's are great!!

Your story about your grandfather really touches my heart , my grandfather was the best man I ever knew and same thing I always wanted to be able to impress him, he's passed away now 20 years ago and I miss him everyday, he was a mechanic and he taught me everything he knew and I still have a lot of his tools, every time I pick one up I think of him, RIP POP

Man I run equipment all day and I been having a rough time calling coyotes I could go on for hours on our own kill box year before in the Texas freeze I just wanted to tell all you guys thanks. I’ve been listening and putting les tips to work last week we did the unthinkable in our country in central texas. We went out and called in 5 coyotes in 5 stands. I mean to think we went from one coyote every 30 stands. Or 3 trips out to. 5 in five stands. I have both of y’all’s podcasts to thank for that. Keep up the good work I’ll keep listening. God bless

People don't realize this and I am sure that Les doesn't even realize this... Les Johnson has killed more coyotes then one might realize, I mean Les has killed more coyotes then he is even aware of with the knowledge that he shares. Any Predator hunter that is willing to learn and use his hand calls better carry a shot gun. They will remember this comment after they learn to use his call properly and miss their first coyote at 25yards with a riffle because they could not stop him and forgot to dial their scope power down. Appreciate that you guys got the right man for this Podcast. Awesome...

So, here’s my take on this. And honestly it prolly don’t mean sh!t to you guys. But this is my 3rd time watching this and each time I learn and hear something new I didn’t catch the previous time. One - les bro. No matter where life takes you or James, y’all always going to kick ass and be one the top in the predator world. Along with Chris’ show night crew. Life throws grenades and y’all toss that shit back and always smash previous goals with higher outcomes and that’s why y’all are where y’all are at today. No matter what people think say or do, y’all keep hammering and always Fkn win bro. That’s what I love about y’all. Always real as shit, Throwing the real information out there on what’s going on and y’all keep pushing forward. It’s unreal. The best mindset a human could possible have, and y’all have it. I wish les would keep pushing content along with y’all’s channels, showing new comers on how to be successful, showing you don’t need 10s of thousands of dollars spent to be something you want to achieve doing this sport. Y’all the real ones and we need more guys like y’all pushing the envelope. Thanks for all y’all produce man. Whole heartedly

I got hooked on coyote hunt when I was 12 years old. I heard about coyote hunting from a buddy’s dad and he brought his call to school. He was blowing it in the school and I heard the sound. I went home that day grabbed my 243 single shot with iron sights and headed to a pond I heard coyotes howl from. I set under a mesquite tree and start calling with my mouth just trying to mimic the sound I heard my buddies call. I didn’t have a call just using my mouth and hands. It was 3 minutes and I could see 2 coyotes running through the brush and one stopped on the pond damn and I was shaking. Got my iron sight set on him and boom dropped him. The other took off before I could reload the break over. I still get that feeling every time I kill a coyote like I did that day. And it has been 13 years.
@cgmeals2 жыл бұрын
Talking about trigger pull and fundamentals at 1:16:08 is the difference in being a shooter and a killer. Same thing in basketball at the end of the game. A guy can statistically be a better shooter, but there’s always that one guy who’s a scorer. Doesn’t matter if it’s a dunk or deep 3. He’s scoring. He gets the ball. Les is killing, doesn’t matter that he slaps the trigger!
@benr7002 Жыл бұрын
Good video I look up to Les. I agree with him about jerking the trigger. I am not the most accomplished coyote hunter as far as getting them in range but I consider myself a decent shot. I shoot ground squirrels in the spring and I generally shoot 1000 - 2000 rounds through my .22lr and 750 through my pcp pellet gun every year at LIVE targets. When a guy has a less than ideal rest, which happens when hunting, a guy has to pull the trigger when the cross hairs are on the target. So I do jerk the trigger a little. The yotes don't stand too much of a chance if they give me a reasonable shot. Les makes me consider sighting my 22-250 in at 200 yards instead of 100 though. When I sit down at a stand I range different parts and have a drop chart on my gun stock. I do not like shooting at things that are not alive unless I am dialing a gun in. Les always gets me amped to "get to calling"! Les is the man and NEEDS TO PUT OUT MORE VIDEOS!
@benr7002 Жыл бұрын
One thing I will take away is when he asked his buddy what did you learn? He replied that Les calls places that others drive past. I'm taking that to my hunt this weekend.
