Very good introduction to the technology. I'm interested as I work with prototype refrigeration systems and there aren't easily available connectors that do the same from HVAC suppliers (at least, here in the UK). Do you have a distributor here?

Can you please elaborate what do you mean the "Sharp rise of torque" when tightening.. How do I know when to stop tightening an ORFS? Thanks!

Unfortunately, this is not an exact science. As you tighten the fitting, you will feel excess resistance to the point where it is too hard to continue to tighten, you should stop at this point.

Don't get me wrong but you are not installing the right way. Something that you are missing and one of the most important things is to install using a backup wrench at the HEX of the hose end, at that way you avoid kinking the o-ring and that will ensure a better installation.
