@@TwoRailfans Thanks, this was definitely a challenge. I’ve had never built anything before. I did lose space though. When the track was on the floor it ran almost wall to wall.

Just found your channel and subscribed. Loved watching your excitement and the family help in pulling this all together. Train cats are awesome. I have 2 cats as well and they are always checking out the platform and boxes below. Layouts are constantly morphing and changing as your budget and creativity allows. I have a similar layout design where 2 main platforms are separated by a gap in between. Before you get too far along into the next phase, I'm going to make a suggestion and you can do as you may. You connected the 2 platforms in the back by the window with a wooden shelf to lay the track. That makes sense for stability, but you are missing out on an opportunity to have bridge crossings spanning and connecting your 2 platforms together with a water scene below. I used a hellgate bridge in the back of mine to connect them, and an under arch bridge in front of that as to not block the beauty of the bridge. It allows 2 main lines to fit in close proximity in the back, while giving the illusion that the gap between the platforms is a waterway. To enter my layout in the front, I use a reissue 313 bascule bridge that I got cheap. I took out the motor, which allows it to be lifted well out of the way by hand, then lowered back down once inside. These were just some ideas to think about from a person who did something similar and wanted more. Please take it as a suggestion and do what you want to do. I love seeing new ideas that people come up with, so I look forward to seeing your progress. Good luck.

I like how the cat sneaks in then takes over managing the project lol. This is so cool. You really put alot of work into building this. I started out on the floor as. Conahey Rail actually started in 2014 on the floor of a spare bedroom. One night in 2015 I had a dream about having a O gauge layout in the basement. I started to build it starting off with a 4 x 12 L shaped layout. So I know you are excited about having a layout above the floor
