You are on the right track with your layout (no pun intended). If you live in a humid and/or cold climate location, you may want to insulate the attic from the environment.

Yes, it would be good to do but I don’t know how I could insulate it with all the stuff in the attic. It would be in the way.

Thank you for posting this. I'm thinking about buying the 8004 and it was good to see it run. It's a beautiful engine and I like the whistle. Is there a volume or on-off switch for the sound of steam?

Nice looking loco. I was never a big fan of the Mighty sound of Steam. It was nothing more than a static generator that was poorly synced to the drivers. But it was a step forward into adding sound. I guess I have been spoiled by today's sound systems. A lot of of the MPC era Steamers could have been better. The Blue Comet looks good but the loco not so impressive and the sound of the Chessie Steam loco leaves a lot to be desired. That said, I like your new layout design.

Yep the train shop was disappointing i put scotch tape on the inside of the windows for now for a easy fix.

I like what you did with your layout update using the 4 036 switches. I currently have 3 ovals (1-using 036, 1 using 031 ) and with old tubular steel 027, no switches on a 4x8 layout. Id like to try to implement your design if I can in the limited space of 4x8. Are your 2 ovals both 036? If so, I could eliminate the inside 027 oval and try to implement that same inside oval crossover using the same 036 switches you did. If you can give me a list of fastrack you used for the 2 ovals, that would be helpful. Thanks

The outer loop is 0-60 because I have a 6x10 foot table. You could run 0-36 and 0-27 on a 4x8 foot table.

Nice running engine I just picked one up but no paperwork would you have it I want to know how to service before I run it. Is it fluid or pellets. Thanks in advance
