@@originoomwizi Yeah, Michael would show Kobe the process of how he made Thriller, how he studied all entertainers etcc. He would introduce him to classic films by dancers like Fred Astaire, talk about what books to read. Kobe said something like: "I thought I worked hard until I met him"

I guess we missed the whole point of nepotism but ok lol. Obviously there’s different opinions of it and no one is denouncing the work ethic of a person who comes from nepotism. However, the point is that they still got an opportunity based on who their parents are, or relatives are. Where on the other hand, a person who has the same “work ethic” and does work just as hard. Still did not get it because they don’t have a relative to give them a foot in the door. In Hollywood it’s whatever, but in the real world where ppl struggle to find jobs because someone’s cousin got the position instead. That’s not so cool in terms of Nepotism.

Damon wayans jr said it best. “A name will get you in the door, but that’s where it ends.” Nobodies putting millions of dollars behind someone just because who their parents are. You have to have the talent to back it up. You may get to the front of the audition line sure, and that may not be “fair”, but as my teacher used to say, “life’s not fair, and then you die.” I understand the frustration but this life is about relationships and networking, everything else comes second. That’s why resumes have a place for recommendations.

@@camxdidxthat I always felt like the idea was for nepo babies to at least admit that most of the reason why they are where they are is because of their parents, which I think O'shae Jackson did. I feel like a lot of other nepo babies feel like they achieved everything through hard work when they didn't. As OP said, there are of lot of talented people with the same work ethich who will NEVER get through that door.
