O - The O Antiphons - What Are The Antiphons?

Fr Alan Gyle, Vicar of St Paul's Knightsbridge, is bringing together members of the congregation - Thomas Hyde, composer, and Clare McCaldin, mezzo-soprano - along with Stevie Farr, Director of Music, and the St Paul's choir and choreographer Hubert Essakow to create a work of music, song and dance in an interpretation of The O Antiphons of Advent.
A series of films, under the title O - The O Antiphons, will record the creation of the work.
O will be performed at St Paul's Knightsbridge on Advent Sunday at 6.00pm on 29 November 2015. All are welcome to the service, which will also be filmed.

In the Roman Catholic Church we had a beautiful modern version of O Antiphons done by a group of musical Priests known as The Dameans. It was on their album Light in the Darkness. GIA publications still has a sample and downloadable version of this song on their website. I listen to it all year round. It's beautiful.
