IMO this is the best performance I've seen for Jinjo. Ironic cuz Wing isn't here. Hong10 definitely allowed Jinjo to pull off more stuff. That sidechair routine was sick...

A practitioner of this dance is called a b-boy, b-girl, or breaker. Although the term "breakdance" is frequently used to refer to the dance, "b-boying" and "breaking" are the original terms. These terms are preferred by the majority of the pioneers and most notable practitioners

Yeah that's fine. I always have respected the old school and I love it. I have always thought that we have to be gratefull with them, because now that the new generation we have is because they worked hard in their moment(I have been actually dancing for 7 years old). But the question is that everything changes, time change things I'm still thinking is not a fair system at all.

True, Nobody else can do his sets, but think about like this. how often do you see him do the same combos? example every time you see him jackhammer whats going to follow? either airflares of flares. Originality is about bringing something new and fresh to the table not just repeating the same moves you been doing for years...

I kind of agree with you, but that also goes into the Battle category, theoretically. Some people suggested a 1-10 scale to more accurately reflect it, but I think that's a bit too high.

a lot of these comments have circulated around lil jon's judging, and some of the questionable calls he made that night. This is great. It proves the OUR system works, because it allows u to pick out one judge and see what he chose each round and allows us to examine whether his assessment was accurate. Regardless of whether lil jon made the right calls that night, the OUR system gives us the power to see who is capable of judging and who isnt.

Execution needs to have these 4 components distinguishable executed: 1. Complete confidence 2. A rhythm (weather power, style or tricks) 3. Clean form (style and power, no scrapes or stumbles) 4. Clean moves (no crashes must be sharp) All 4 must be executed from the beginning to the end of the ENTIRE round to score perfect

Of course Blue did a great job. I just think that sometimes when someone maxes out a category or two, the judging system doesn't leave any room for the opposing crew to top it in the response. That could be changed if crews were given scores relative to each other. For instance, the Gamblerz routine at 6:50 earned a 5 in dynamics, but one could argue that Jinjo's response was even more dynamic. However, there is no way for the scoring system to reflect that. O.U.R. is still great. Keep it up!

Bboying isn't even about only one aspect of the dance. It's about the bigger picture and in the past, battles were judged based on factors like technique and others. Foundation and every other part of the O.U.R. system reps each aspect of the dance. Although parts of the world may disagree, the system hasn't existed that long yet. There are still parts of the system that are viewed negatively upon, but hopefully some changes can be made on how exactly each part is judged.

I'm amazed by The End's power as much as the next person, believe me. But let's say someone somewhere in the world managed to achieve let's say jackhammers to airflares and has never even heard of The End. He's not biting since he's never seen a single bit of The End's powerhead style. He's just doing the same combo. At the same time, he's able to do something that The End can do. So really, powermoves can only make a small impact on Originality. Like I said, there's a Dynamics section for that.

since their points are added to the same side they can balance each other out if they are very good at what they do. however, if one crew has power heads who have stronger foundation, not just specialized, then it makes sense that they should do better.

Points are given out by quality, not quantity. Yes a routine could attain high points, and the following solo can waste moves or do nothing to improve the score. Same can be said vice versa with a good solo can score high, and a following routine can actually bring it down

Gamblers were getting a lot of 1's for foundation. That felt right seeing as Sick and The End weren't doing foundation. However that bugs me as I remembered how last year during the R16 solos BBoys like Taisuke did just as little foundation and was getting 3s. I also have a question. Are the points given out on amount or quality? Strictly speaking a routine could attain high points and the solo following the routine would just waste moves and do nothing to little to improve the points.
@abtyang
@abtyang 12 жыл бұрын
i agree on the originality deserving more than a 2, it's probably since so many people have been influenced by the end that it doesn't seem as original anymore. but i think execution of a 3 is a fair score because that category shouldn't take into account the difficulty of the moves. that goes under dynamics
@Soulfide

@abtyang
@abtyang 12 жыл бұрын
of course it will always depend somewhat on the judge, so I assume that lil jon did not feel his flow was strong, or that his moves were connected with the right confidence etc. it's not just having creative footwork moves it's having them flow with the right swagger. and sometimes people with an abstract style can have flow that is hard to get into so I can see why a judge would consider that foundation weak

What probably would be better is to set the maximum of points to 10. Reason for this is that for example many bboys can get an average/good score in dynamics (3/4) like Skim, however, The End gets a 5 with doing way more and higher level dynamics. The difference in points in only 1/2 while the difference in dynamics in their performance is greater. So in 10 points The End would have 10 points and the other 6 points, the difference of 4 points now seems more appropriate to the difference in skill

Doesn't matter if its fucking incomplete if they are already applying it to important fucking battles. In this system Jinjo could wipe the floor with pretty much any on going crew as of now. They are the masters of being well rounded.

there are too many questions about this scoring system too. This system can also have the beauty. but there are a number of difficulties for a bboy meet the requirements of this OUR system. I just speak my thoughts I can not have anything else. PEACE

@uveress
@uveress 12 жыл бұрын
Being well-rounded means you have mastered a certain level of every part of the dance, which is a good thing. That means Jinjo, being well-rounded, is better than Gamblerz, who focuses on power(one aspect of the dance). It's the same with style. If a bboy or crew only focuses on style, they'd lose to Jinjo as well, because they only focus on a certain aspect of the dance. Being a good bboy means having a good balance of both power, style, foundation, etc.

i think the old way of "3,2,1, point" would have sufficed, with big events like this, they get the best of the best to judge so that the audience and bboys watching the battle will know and trust the judges' decision.
