Hi as you both have built with the Asus strix board, I have had a nightmare with it, had to return it as it was bricked. Any help would be appreciated, did u update bios on installation as when I installed it the board had no drivers on it or anything which I found strange for a board of that price, I managed to get it to run after a nightmare of a time but it kept crashing, I'm using the same ram and when I installed the 5.0 SSD it bricked. It also crashed alot playing games. Many thanks Craig

I never updated the bios, but with the 96GB memory kit from G.Skill I did have an issue where it wouldn't boot and got a white VGA light. After troubleshooting, I found that it would boot with just 1 DIM of the 48GB on slot A2. Once I was able to post and updated all the driivers, booting with 2 sticks worked fine, and then a simple overclock got me the 6400 Mts Other thing I would recommend is using the integrated graphics by plugging into motherboard instead, sometimes that ends up working too

@FIREWOLFTECH thanks for that I had a nightmare with it my second board is now running 9800x3d and AMD 7900xtx with 4x 16mb g skill, but there was no drivers on the board did the bios update and still had to install the lan drivers, switch of windows fast boot and then clear CMOS, it shouldn't be that hard and a board of this price should definitely work better. Thanks so much for replying and you build video it was really helpful

This is such a detailed and step by step video for building a PC, Its even better then the top channels ( LTT, jay two cents)! The top channels don't film everything or sometimes complete a process off screen but you literally showed everything and for that I commend you man. 15k subs is criminal. The music is in the background was good touch btw and it wasn't too loud or too low.

I originally subscribed to you because of your in-depth monitor reviews. But I've got to say... This is without a doubt the BEST and most thorough step by step guide for building a PC that I've ever seen on KZbin. Nobody EVER covers the cabling aspect of the build and you went above and beyond throughout explaining each step of the process. I'm going to be taking huge inspiration from you during my first ever PC build and I can't thank you enough for what you've done here with this video. I can only imagine the time and effort that went into making this beast of a tutorial. Thank you so much and keep doing what you do!

Thank you for going so in depth. I have watched more than a handful of other builders and none of them explained things like you did. I have built 2-3 of my own computers in the past, but they last 8-10 years each, so it's like starting new each time... having to relearn everything. This new upcoming build (my computer went puff a few weeks ago, bought a cheap ($230) temporary computer to buy me a few months so I can plan my dream computer and save up) will be my first time I will play with RGBs, internal LCDs, strimers and extra fans.

Extremely thorough guide! I've watched several videos on this build, and yours is by far the easiest to understand (in my opinion). I'm most grateful for your explanation and guidance on the Lian Li fan hubs, as they initially looked quite intimidating. You've definitely made me feel better about the build. I started mine a few days ago, but I found I was missing three additional reverse-bladed fans for the bottom mounted fans. I'm also missing the Connect 3 controller for the strimer cables, I'm glad they won't be wasted and that I can use them. I've got both parts needed on order. Given my current progress, I think I'm going to pull everything apart (except for the motherboard) and start again. I also didn't know that maxing out the NVMe drives can have a negative effect on some of the PCIe slots, so I'll be sure to check my motherboard manual for additional information there too. The steps you've taken make much more sense, and I appreciate your approach to cable management. Since I also have the Edge PSU, I may utilise one of the drive bays to house some of the cables or hub connectors. Thanks again for putting the extra time into this guide. I'm confident this will help a lot of other people too!

Hey for the pump head on this case, I cut the ends sticking out off of the plastic cover for the thermal paste. I then used a small amount of blue tack to hold the plastic onto the pump head. Then I put the original white wrapper back over the pump head, removed the rubber cover, pushed the pump head through the hole and then through the rubber cover. Then I just removed both the plastic cover and original white wrapper. This way you will keep the pre applied thermal paste. Hope this helps👌

Not sure whether it's just what it's supposed to be with this AIO, air tracked in the pump because of the way in which it had to be installed, or my pump is defective.

@SaschaRobitzki
@SaschaRobitzki Ай бұрын
I've never seen any data proving that, but based on common sense, it's less advisable to have the tubes at the top. The air will be trapped at the top, and the pump will have a harder time. It might also result in additional noise. If the tubes are at the bottom, you can be sure there's only liquid.

Have you connect the AIO pump on the AIO pump header ? normally this one order to the pump to always go at 100% speed. It's better for the noise and... for the pump. If it changes the speed, it makes more noise and it will break down your pump fan more quickly...

Thanks bro !! Really appreciate your comment. As for the push pull, it’s best to use the same fans to match RPM, Static Pressure, and air volume. It’s probably fine and ok to use different fans, it’ll be harder to connect, but then again, I think the extra connector that I zip tied away from the kraken AIO breakout should connect straight to NZXT Cam software so you can adjust the fan speeds to closely match the other fans.

L connect 3 lets you adjust each set of fans with custom cpu fan curves. You can also name each set of fans to w.e you like (i.e Bottom, AIO, Rear) and each of them can all use the same fan curves or different ones. And yes the pump I would control on NZXT Cam. I leave it at performance

Your video was so helpful and informative. I did come across a question in regards to a build I plan on doin in the in the future. You mentioned that the "Lian LI" hub can control a set of 4 group of fans, (refering to you possibly doing a push pull on your AIO). I was going to do that exact setup, but I also wanted to add a "fifth group of fans" 3 for exhaust on top of the case. Just because im OCD and love fans, LOL!! How would I set these group of fans to be controlled? Is another "Lian Li" hub needed? Thanks so much for your help!

That’s a great combo and smart to wait for 50-series. Hopefully 3080’s are super cheap (just keep in mind 30-series uses 8-pin power connectors in case you want to use strimmer you need the 8-pin version) As for the CPU cooler, trust me I know, it sucks to spend extra to swap fans, like why can’t they just sell me the radiator 😅 But NZXT coolers look better with the circular design 🔥

Is the 9950x still good for gaming and streaming? or should I just go with 9800x3D?
@FIREWOLFTECH

9950x has good gaming performance, but the 9800x3D is even better at gaming. I think the GPU choice will also be a huge factor. I recommend looking at benchmarks for the 9950x and 9800x3D since there are many. The 9950x is great when you add in productivity like video editing and lots of workflow so it really depends on what you need it for. Of course we can wait for the x3D version of the 9950X which would be a great balance between work and play, but we’ll have to see when they drop 🔥

Going through the setup process and experiencing issues can be frustrating ! Check to see if your motherboard has LED indicators or number codes that could point you to where to look. Sometimes RAM can be an issue, so I recommend using 2 dimms, but also try using just 1 dimm on slot A2 (this is what worked for me using the 48GB ram stick). Another thing to try sometimes is using HDMI instead of DisplayPort or vise versa. I would also look into PC build forums because many have gone through similar issues with different troubleshooting methods. I really hope you find a way ! If you do, please let us know what caused the issue.

The kraken elite 2024 in my opinion, is the best looking circular pump with a large screen and great customization. I was glad it fit by less than a millimeter 😅 The biggest downside is the price, so I only recommend it if you have the extra budget and prefer the aesthetics. Keep in mind also that the vision chrome is the original Vision which doesn’t have the AIO Grommet like the vision compact has. I think the lian li hydro shift would hide the tubes better on the Vision Chrome

Adding up all the components is about $5200-$5500 😅 $6K+ if you try to buy a ROG STRIX 4090 White since they are selling it for a lot higher than base msrp. The 9950X ($650) and 4090 ($2200) is almost $3K alone, but if you swap the GPU you can save more more than $1000 if you went for a 4080 super or even more if you go for lower tier GPU and lower tier CPU. I think a good $3-3.5K gets you a solid 4K PC $2-2.5K for a 1440P PC Of course everything depends on the components and sales/discounts you might find

these fans are incorrectly installed. there is negative pressure in the housing. there is no air circulation. all fans suck air out of which the casing will be drawn towards the gaps and the components on the motherboard will heat up. especially the graphics card. Not that I'm nitpicking. I'm just trying to help. It is not always possible to install nice argb fans to make the rest work well. on half of them you would have to reverse the polarity to meet the conditions in the housing. but it would have nothing to do with the life of these fans. consider whether your fans are working properly. kind regards

Anotherthing to mention: there are many ways to plug and control the radiator fans/AIO... (see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIOuiHWrhZWAaLs ) But the simplest seems to be the one you use: Connect them to one of the ports on the Lial Li controller with one of the 4 cables supplied with the 3 fan kit. But then you have to REMEMBER the number of the port on which they are connected and then indicate in the L-Connect software that these fans of the radiator of this specific port will be controlled according to the temperature of the CPU. And tell him that all other fans of all the other ports will be controlled according to GPU temperature. If I have well understood, one of the others solutions should be to use the connector given with the single fan box, with two connectors : SYST fan and 5V argb, and connect the Syst Fan connector to the CPU fan on the mother board, and 5VARGb on the SYNC 3 or SYNC 4 connector on the Lian Connector.
@FIREWOLFTECH
@FIREWOLFTECH 12 күн бұрын
In the L connect software, you can easily identify them since when you click on the number, it will flash that set of fans so you can rename it to whatever you like. By knowing which set of fans are the AIO you can set a specific curve depending on the CPU temp EDIT : Yes that is another way to use the SYST fan and 5VARGB, but then you couldnt use L connect to control the RGB. You would be locked into your motherboards software or 3rd party. You wouldn’t be able to control the RGB strips and inner RGB independently

@@FIREWOLFTECH Thank you for the answer, and Yes, the best way is your way as you has explained in your other Evo RGB built : all fans , strimers, and their lights on L-Connect to be controled and let Asus Armory software controling RAM, Asus Mother Board leds, case leds and Asus GPU if it's an Asus one... MSI software for a MSI card... :) The only little issue for that is when you built the PC from zero and you have to install WIndows on it... Because as the fan are controled by L-Connect, if L- Connect is not installed : some guys on reddit say that fans doesn't turn ! only the AIO pump but not the fans on the radiator... is it true ? And if yes, do you think we can install windows without fans turned on !? Then install last firmware of lian li SL FANS controler and Lian Li strimers controler, and last version of L-connect... Or should we disconnect the USB of Lian Li Fans controller and only the 5VRGB and SYST FAN cable for the first boot... And after the installations, put them away and connect the USB instead ? (Maybe for these Reddit guy this was a result of a conflict between 5VRGB and SYST FAN and USB that wasn't control by L-Connect ? and with your buil with only the USB connected : no conflict and it works without L-connect ? ) ...The other solution could be to install a SSD with windows and L-Connect already install from another PC ;) Could you tell us your experience for this first boot please ? www.reddit.com/r/lianli/comments/12ds1rd/help_needed_with_new_build_infinity_fans_and/
