As always good lesson. I hope that in the future that engineers would design automotive sensors and electronic components with weatherproof tabs or small tunnels to accommodate test probes or small alligator clips

I do have the eBook Section lectures available on my website, but there is already quit a few additional case study videos that are only available on ScannerDanner Premium. This O2 heater case study in particular can only be found there. Hopefully google will open this to other countries soon. I am being told that the first quarter of 2014 more countries will be added.

Hi Paul, I bought your EBook and am I able to see this full video on ScannerDanner Premium?
@ScannerDanner11 жыл бұрын
No, the Premium channel is separate. Thank you for the support with the eBook purchase. I am hoping to be able to provide a free coupon for my eBook buyers to my premium channel. But as of now I have no control of it. Everything goes through Google.

does heater circuit normally work for few seconds once engine starts then stop ?
@ScannerDanner3 жыл бұрын
Upstream or downstream O2 heater circuit? I'm general, no, once it is turned on, it stays on, though some will be pulsed on-off to control heater current (pulse width modulation)

Good day, Paul.I'm Working on a 2010 tahoe, getting the catalyst system low efficiency bank 2 code. Checked ecu and wiring integrity of my culprit sensor which is downstream. by shorting signal wire to ground and positive while checking the live data. Upstream o2 is workin correctly oscillating from 45 mv to 850 mv. The heater circuit on my culprit downstream also seems good since i get 12 volts on both and only 1 goes to 0 volts when disconnecting. The o2 sensor is a narrow band i think as it goes from 0 mv to 1200 mv. It's mostly active around 150 mv and never goes up unless i throttle snap. Is my sensor perhaps not heating up enough? Would helping it out with a heat gun maybe reflect a more stable voltage. Any help is appreciated.

@ScannerDanner just watched! Ok, interesting. I'll take oxygen storage scope readings of both my S2/ 1 and S2/ 2 to make sure we have a good enough delay in seconds after enriching the mix and stopping. I'll update you tomorrow. Thanks, Paul!

@jinxxpwnage awesome! You can do it with scan data PIDS first. You just can't gauge "time" but if they are the same, you don't need to measure it. The cats bad.

Hey scanner I got a question I got a Chrysler 300m with a o2 that got burnt against the exhaust well I was having a o2 2/2 p0032 if I can remember its said voltage was high so I checked my ground and I got that so I tested with a ohms and it was below 5 ohms I checked the signal wire had no flashing light when I did a o2 sensor test. so I did a direct wire connection to all 4 wires after repairing the problem the code jumped to bank 1 s 1 and bank 2s1 same issue I checked all of them. After doing so I was looking at data and I notice the bank 2s2 was at 4.95 volts when the engine was cold started it and looked at the live data for 2min all three dropped down to 2.8 to 2.9-3.0 v but bank two after 3min finally droped to 2.5-2.8v check engine light did come on until I repeat these same steps of letting them cool down to room temp and starting it back up by the 3rd time check engine light but bank 1s1 high volts I'm leaning to say the pcm got fried....what u think I can make a video of live data monday..........please respond!!!!!!

You must use a factory O2 sensor only on this model. I just made a video on this, haven't uploaded it yet. Will be a few Weeks. You do NOT need a computer. Did you replace the O2s?
@ScannerDanner11 жыл бұрын
After re reading your post, check for a blown fuse for the heater circuits for the O2s. This will also cause your condition and is most likely what happened when your rear O2 shorted.
