28:35 to check if it's the Schrader valve, after pulling a vacuum, you could close the fitting valve of the gauge set so it's no longer pushing the service port valve stem, as well as the manifold valves, and see if the gauges show a change in vacuum or pressure. 33:50 If it does, it would indicate it's leaking past the service port valve, assuming there's no leaks in the gauge set connections.

No, I never said an exhaust restriction will cause a lean condition. I said if you have a low power condition and your O2s go lean at WOT, you have a fuel delivery problem. If they go rich (like they should), next step is to test for a plugged exhaust. Hope that clarifies things for you. Thanks!

I need me some ScannerDanner help! have a challenging issue with my 2008 Audi S5 4.2 (186,000 km) that I hope you can help with. About 1-2 days after washing the engine(12 weeks ago now), I started experiencing misfires in cylinder 2, but only under load, specifically when hitting around 3500+ RPM with about 20-30% throttle. The car runs smoothly without misfires when driven gently without pushing it over 20-30% Here’s what I’ve done so far: Replaced all spark plugs and coils Changed the injector in cylinder 2 Performed an oil service and installed a new battery Replaced the engine mount on the driver's side Conducted a compression test which showed good results Despite these changes, the misfire in cylinder 2 persists. I even tried relocating the plugs and coils, but the problem remains. Any insights or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

You've learned a lesson on why I NEVER wash an engine bay. We really need to get a lab scope on the #2 ignition coil and the #2 injector. Water intrusion is suspect for sure. I'm thinking you have a voltage drop, maybe on the ignition supply circuit for the #2 coil and your spark is weak because of it, which could lead to high rpm misfiring. That is a stretch but without some scope readings, I'm just guessing

I added LED bulbs to a 2006 Ram and they would light up for a few minutes and then go out. The computer didn't like the load the led's were pulling so some burden resistors had to be added to trick the computer that the old incandescent bulbs were still in there. @@ScannerDanner sorry, I have many questions. I have a 2005 impala no crank no start. Originally my only problem was the starter wasn’t functioning from the key turn but if I jumped the relay it would turn. I also could tap it. After checking cleaning grounds I lost all use of the starter. So I don’t know what’s going on. Relays are good and fuses. Have fuel pressure. Checked the pink wire from the coil pac and the ground. I do have a security light, always have and never been an issue. All this started with a cyl 6 misfire and replaced plugs and wires and then the problem with no crank started. It never even clicked or tried to turn. The dash lights all illuminated at on but all turn off when trying to crank. I guess the starter is bad maybe because I use to could tap and now it won’t respond but I don’t know if that is the root problem because yesterday I could jump the relay and the starter did fine. I feel like even getting it tested, repaired, I’d still have a communication error to it. I guess I don’t have a specific question other than the obvious, why won’t it crank.

Hello. Hyundai Sonata 2015 Hybrid. RR speed sensor code on scanner. From drawing it is an active magnetosensitive sensor. But when checking the supply voltage there 0V. I check it on LR one which is known to be good and there also 0V. Please explain where I am making a mistake?
@ScannerDanner
@ScannerDanner Күн бұрын
if you have 0v on both ABS WSS wires and one is a known good and the other is a known bad, then you are not dealing with an active sensor, it would be a VRS (variable reluctance sensor) that creates its own voltage

With all this new technology that vehicles have, why do people want to add aftermarket stuff like this? Yeah, i guess there are those who want to have a different "look". I think auto lighting systems today provide enough light. You are only asking for trouble. Unless the aftermarket supplies components that cause no problems with the onboard computer and modules setting codes, i would be staying original. As SD stated, those codes will remain there.
